Flatpack is a a package for an integrated circuit consisting of a rectangular sealed unit with a number of horizontal metal pins protruding from its sides. Organisation is important as it helps us to be organised and keep things planned and levelled. I like being organised as it also allows me to keep my mind focused as there won’t be things scattered everywhere distracting me when I am working. However, my desk is organised as I have multiple drawers where I keep rough copies that I use at home and stationeries, I have a side area, next to my desk which is under my window, that is heavily disorganised. It is scattered with old worksheets, my school books and other stuff.

In order to make me more organised, I would create a flatpack-type bookshelf where I would keep my books and other items I need to be organised. The design I will make will be very simple and easy to make. It will be similar to the bookshelves available at IKEA. 

This design would be successful and helpful for students of middle school as it would allow them to create a simple bookshelf that would let them be more organised with their accessories.

    People are getting more busy which they can’t even eat or clean their desks on time. Therefore, In this unit I am aiming to give some solutions that I can create something useless things I can use in my desk. These useless things will made by MDF which is wood. Furthermore, the solution will be pencil case which I can put pencils or pens in.

Design brief:

Flat pack designs are furnitures that are flat and have a rectangular shape. This is convenient to be shipped and to be assembled by the consumers. Furthermore, the design of the desk is so simple that it gives the freedom of creativity. 

The workspace is a place where we work, study or sometimes relax. It is one of those spaces that we will be in on most days of the years, whether to make a living, or to finish our school works. Like every other room in a house, it needs decoration and organization to create a suitable and comfortable atmosphere for working. A suitable and comfortable atmosphere in a workspace is very important to let the occupant focus on their work and not have to worry about any other distracted aspects, such as physical comfort. However, in the bulk of materials, books and papers, a lot of students and adults have very messy and unorganized desks, which leads to physical discomfort, frequent need to reorganize the workspace and frustration in finding things.

Flat pack design are furnitures or organizers that have disconnected different parts that can be pack into flat packagings such as a carton box. The different parts are then assembled by the consumer using instructions provided with the product. Flat pack products needs to have smart connecting methods to reduce hassle making it easier for the consumer to assemble. The benefit of flat pack design is the low cost to purchase, especially for furniture. Other benefit is that it is very easy to transport, which would be very beneficial for moving houses. And another benefit is that it is space friendly, which means if you don’t need the furniture/organizer, then you could easily put them away without it taking too much space in the storage room. This is one of those revolutionary ideas in modern design.
