Everyone had a different way of using the graph information. Some of us scrolled back and forth, one of us took pictures of the chart, and another person wrote down the information in their notebook. The importance of note taking came up as a way of preparing our students. Going over how to maneuver the places students have to go to during the test is also important to go over.&nbsp;Math talks and "dots" tasks can help students build endurance, see that there are many different ways to solve a problem, and build routines for reasoning.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Performance task was wordy<br>It involved quite a bit of information referencing<br>It required a significant amount of reading comprehension to understand the problem and what they are being asked to do<br>It required all mathematical operations, except division<br>Due to COVID-19 circumstances, many students have not had as many opportunities to manage money.<br>Complex mathematical calculations in this performance tasks<br>Task involved too much reading, many references and going back and forth between the tables of information and questions.&nbsp;<br>Will the teacher be allowed to give them copies of the tables to reduce that back and forth required in gathering the information from the tables?<br>Can certain words be highlighted<br>by the teacher to simplify the task and streamline the reading?&nbsp;<br>Reading can be a struggle for many of the students, especially after impact of the pandemic.<br>Inform parents regarding the assessment content/concepts and assessment process.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this PT we engaged in MP1 Persevering in solving problems. Students need to go back and check work and resources and they need to know how to read charts and take information from it.&nbsp;<br>We can prepare our students for this type of task by first backwards planning to teach the skill before they are introduced the task. They need to know the academic language to understand how to approach task like this. Students should engage in higher order thinking to promote conversations and checking their understanding.  </div>]]></description>
