My other student who is my case study, did the opposite. Her total number of words went from 131 to 122. her miscues went up from 6 to 8, but her comprehension also went up to 3/4. I feel that she was not in a good mood that day. She had been in trouble with her homeroom teacher earlier, so that may have influenced her effort. This is exciting because as they grow in reading levels, their fluency is still maintaining/growing. 12/17 of my students are at 50 WPM or more! This is awesome for 1st grade!
