Relaxed/Autism Friendly Screenings have the following features:

• The auditorium lights are lowered but not turned off

• The sound is at a lower level than other screenings

• There’s no adverts or trailers – so the films start promptly at the time shown

• All customers are free to move around the auditorium

• Customers can bring their own food – though the usual cinema snacks are also available

If you are transitioning from primary to secondary school, or know someone that is, then these resources are for you.

Leading up to the new school year, you may feel nervous about going to a different school. All these anxious and worried feelings are totally normal. It isn't "bad" or "weird" to feel a bit odd and concerned about moving into Year 7, there are thousands of young people doing the same thing - you are not alone!

We at Shared Health Foundation in collaboration with Lifecentre Salford are sharing information and resources for parents, pupils and school staff about what to expect at high school. These include topics such as timetables, travelling to school, and practical and emotional support.

Play the very best video games from the past five decades and try out over a hundred different consoles with the ultimate hands-on gaming experience. Game on! 

Power Up is open daily during school holidays.

In Manchester, young people aged under 16 can swim for free during public general swim sessions during the school holidays. They can also swim for free during weekends term time too.

Each session costs £10 per service user; support workers and parents are free of charge.

The Sensory Room can be enjoyed by all ages for relaxation and therapeutic purposes and can be booked directly through the Community Centre for either one-off or recurring sessions. It contains a wide variety of sensory stimulation such as a waterbed, interactive sound wall, infinity tunnel, bubble tubes, full HD projector with a variety of animated projections and sounds, aromatherapy diffuser, laser star projector, sound activated lighting, fibre optic curtain and fully padded flooring.

It has been set up to help Parents & Carers access information you can trust, all in one place. Our resources have been developed together with autistic people, parents and carers, and subject matter experts, and follow the most recent research and guidance.

Our service includes 1-2-1’s, virtual group sessions, and free online training.

Don’t be afraid to get things wrong! Sometimes it takes us a long time to work out who we are, and that’s fine. It’s not a race. The important part is making sure that you have all the support you need to feel happy and able to thrive.

I am based in Manchester. I hold a Level 2 qualification in barbering as well as Level 2 training in autism awareness.

I offer a free consultation with each family before beginning any work. This allows me to meet with the parent or caregiver, go through my policies in detail, and ensure that both the child and their family feel comfortable and confident in the process.

My passion for supporting children with additional needs stems from personal experience. I am a parent to a four-year-old son who has autism, and through my journey, I have come to understand the many challenges autistic children face.

Beyond the Spectrum run virtual poetry sessions for autistic young people aged 13-17 years old.
