The Testifiers:
heard about it on social media. made David think of the homeless people in Center. Would try to testify at a meeting after activity.
Sophia felt natural to testify after her experience in mock trials in high school. enjoyed hearing other's opinions. Lived in the neighborhood for proposed camp and initially was against it but after learning more she was realizing the stereotypes are not always the case, became more educated and aware to homelessness. has seen a link on website to hear city council hearings.
Nakkia thought it was interesting. She didn't know there were so many moving parts. Great to hear opposing sides maybe even gives you a chance to change your mind. She would stand up for something she was passionate about.

The Senators:
Cesar has never seen a city council hearing and thought it was pretty interesting. He was ready to get into a breakout room to discuss the final decision!
Silvia found it hard to make the questions because she was in favor for the camp, but it was interesting to hear the opinions of both sides.

The power of your voice at a hearing. our opinion is needed. If a family loses their job but there are no vouchers to give this family because they ran out this creates inequity. There has to be a balance but it creates inequities in the vouchers, who gets them and who doesn't. How do we reach a balance
