IFLA works with six Regional Divisions which are the world divisions used for the United Nations Regional Commission. Each Division has a Regional Division Committee which generally consists of 15-20 people elected by IFLA Members in the region. Among the six of IFLA's Regional Divisions are included:

✨Asia-Oceania
  • The IFLA's Asia-Oceania Regional Division includes Oceania and Central, East, South, and Southeast Asia. The advocacy, determining the region's objectives, and developing and delivering action plans to address them are the main topics of this section. This also entails capacity-building efforts and spreading the word about the IFLA's offerings and activity. Additionally, it is in charge of expanding IFLA's membership and influence as well as enhancing the voice of the library. The Regional Division Committee is also charged with collaborating with other regional library associations and strengthening lobbying efforts with the UN and other organizations, including the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific.
✨Europe
  • All nations in the European region, as well as all regions of Europe, including the Caucasus, are covered by the European Regional Division of IFLA.

  • All nations in the West Asia and North Africa region, as represented by the UN Economic and Social Commission for West Asia, are included in the Middle East and North Africa Regional Division of IFLA. Additionally, it is accountable for the same duties as the other divisions. The goal of the Regional Division Committee is to work together with other local library groups. The Divisional Committee also collaborates closely with the IFLA Center for Arabic-Language Libraries and IFLA Headquarters.
✨North America
  • The United States and Canada are included in the IFLA North America Regional Division. The Regional Division Committee also communicates with other Division Committee Chairs via the Regional Council with new and important problems through its chair.
✨Sub-Saharan Africa
  • The IFLA Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Sector includes all African countries except North Africa. Like the department, she is responsible for focusing on advocacy, identifying regional priorities, and defining and implementing action plans that correspond to them. Second, the Regional Sector Commission is tasked with working with other regional library organizations to build stronger advocacy in other organizations such as the United Nations, the United Nations  Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union.

  • Increasing the use of abstractions improves the standardization and control of various indexes in the library catalog. This provides direct benefits with a wider variety of indexes associated with different levels, improving search. It can also make index maintenance easier, such as translating and versioning multiple scripts. With more bibliographic levels, individual real-world entities such as books, videos, and computer games are further "clustered" under work-level objects. This allows you to search for "intuitive contexts" such as "movies in books" or "videos on the same topic as this song." This opens up a new area for search possibilities. 
  • Increased conceptual clarity of the 4-level model, including traditional authority files, improves OPAC navigation capabilities. You can also move between  different levels of objects as a meaningful search process. In addition, authority files such as author and subject can contain important information at various levels and can be included in this navigation process as separate objects.
✨ Staff members
  • Matching data items to the correct object at the bibliographic level  means that there are more ways to use collaborative cataloging. It is now a separate component rather than  a complete bibliographic record (MARC). Therefore, double inventory is further reduced. This advantage is not only necessary for the legacy of this model, but also for the practical application of the connectivity capabilities of the Internet and other currently expanding library networks.

INTRODUCTION

To begin, the organisation in charge of conserving the national repository of knowledge assets for current and future generations is Malaysia's National Library. Initiated in 1966, PNM. PNM had a limited involvement in the implementation of the Preservation of Books Act of 1966 and the creation of the National Bibliography of Malaysia at that time as a unit under the National Archives. After the National Library Act of 1972 was approved, the National Library started to welcome visitors to the Reference Section.

Next, in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur's Jalan Tun Razak, work on the PNM building began in 1978. The Malaysian personality, which stands for intellectual success, is reflected in the PNM edifice. The traditional Malay headgear serves as the design inspiration, while the interior architecture is influenced by the notion of the mind. The environment of the room represents the free-flowing, expansive cerebral faculties. In 1992, the structure was finished and officially opened.
