This is the cover of the book I am reading. Out of my mind by Sharon M Draper is about a girl named Melody who suffers from a birth defect that keeps her from the ability to walk, or talk but that doesn´t stop her, she always finds a new way to solve her problem. The only ones she can´t solve are the ones at school, she is bullied and not even the teachers want to help but Melody
doesn´t care, she keeps something to school and proving everyone wrong.

The book Wonder by RJ Palacio is about a boy named Auggie who has a physical disabilities but not mental and like Melody he gets bullied at school and looked down upon but just like Melody he doesn´t care and he keeps getting mentally stronger against the haters. He shows people that it´s okay to be different. We have have our flaws but we should be proud of them. They are what make us unique.

She can only get around with this thing this limits so many things for her but she manages to succeed in life and push past her limits and be brave.

This camera represents Melody´s brain and how it functions. It´s like a camera when she sees something her brain takes a ¨Picture¨ of it and glues it into her brain forever. She never forgets anything. This is why Melody is so smart she can remember anything from when she first started walking to 5th grade now. Nobody is as smart as her and that is why Melody´s brain is a camera

This right here what this girl is doing is what Melody wishes she could do everyday. She sees people talking in the hallways, at lunch, on the bus and in class. She wishes she can sing more than talk she wishes she could sing more than walk. She dreams about singing up on a stage in front of a crowd of millions but eventually she has to wake up and realize that she is still in a wheel chair speechless her whole life.

She presses a button and a machine speaks her words for her, and although it doesn´t come straight out of her mouth she is grateful for what she has. This is her only form of communication and it sounds like a robot. She is very happy she can "talk" but she just wishes it came out of her mouth.

This book relates to out of my mind because Gerald the main character is different from everyone else and he gets teased for it just like Melody. Both stories also have stereotypes against the main character Gerald's is Giraffes can't dance and Melody's is disabled kids aren't smart, but also in both stories they prove their stereotype and do what the others can't. They are brave and they be themselves.
