I have started a Schoology group for my math department next year that way we can all house common things in one resource location and then easily move it to Schoology for student use as needed.

Our administrator has physically grouped our math teachers together for next year. With proximity, the collaboration will naturally happen. We frequently communicate with each other and are open to receiving new ideas. I also would like to be a Google Space/Group Chat for just math teachers to communicate with each other.

As a PLC, we meet each week to plan our instruction. As we plan, we divide all of the tasks so that we share the responsibilities for each part of every lesson: creating daily bell ringers, writing lesson note handouts, implementing practice assignments or activities, and all shared assessments- both formative and summative. We also informally communicate daily. Since we are in close proximity, it is easy to troubleshoot and make any adjustments as the need arises.

We also meet as a PLC weekly and share ideas and responsiblities.

Our PLC has a group on Schoology where we share resources such as tests, study guides, and question banks. This comes in handy when we need to collaborate and give common assessments.

There is typically only one MM teacher per campus, so we work hard to collaborate across campuses using email, instant messaging, FaceTime calls as well as in-person meetings. We split up tasks for creating the content for the course, set deadlines and give each other feedback on what we have created. We also debrief multiple times a year on what is going well and what needs to be changed for the next year.

Our PLC meets regularly, and we discuss and share ideas to help improve instruction and student learning.

I try to gather our department together at least once a month to connect and discuss what is happening in our classrooms. Typically, everyone actively participates in those discussions.

I have also been involved with helping to develop county curriculum guides. It is nice to connect with teachers throughout the county.

This past school year, several colleagues and I utilized the Google Chat feature, which saved us space with our emails and saved us time because we were able to quickly plan, make adjustments to lessons, and divvy up responsibilities for different assignments as needed.

I am somewhat of an island in my own department as I have all the honors precalculus and AP calculus. However, the other calculus teachers in the county have been extremely helpful and open about what works and what doesn't work in their buildings and we have a great community in this district.

I collaborate with my fellow math teachers daily. Our rooms are beside each other and we share a common planning period. We are in continuous communication about improving our teaching.

I have a Special Education teacher that co-teaches with me and we have really been working together to figure out how to catch up this class of 11th graders. We talk at the end of class each day about what worked and what didn't and decide how to move forward!

I have joined the county book study that was offered for math teachers! This is a great way to get ideas from different schools and try out new things!

Not only does our math department have weekly PLC meetings where we collaborate, we also all work next door to each other so we frequently discuss and collaborate before/after school. I also share Google drives between teacher in the school and even other teachers in the district that teach the same class that I teach.

Common planning allows the math teachers in our grade level to meet and discuss plans and ideas. Also, the book study group for math teachers is offering a time to visit the classrooms of other teachers who are using the strategies in their classrooms. I am excited to see the strategies in action!

We meet with our grade level math people every other Friday, and we meet as a math department once a month. Our grade level math people plan to collaborate on a learning based project which will lead to a field trip. I am also in the middle of a book study with other teachers, and I am looking forward to the collaboration we will have throughout the year.

County Remote Teachers

It definitely took a collaborative effort to create assignments and assessments for remote students during the height of COVID. This task would not have been possible if we did not work together with all teachers across the county.

I think it would be really cool to collaborate my math modeling class with a career prep class. We spend one nine weeks on finance and I feel like it would be a good intro to the career prep students and a good refresher for the math modeling students.

We'll create a google doc and then use it to create a common assessment. This allows us to edit each other's work and see what we are doing in real time instead of combining the work afterwords.

As an instructional coach, I meet with math teachers to ask their plan for the upcoming unit. I ask if there is any way that I can support them in the upcoming weeks. I ask if they need help creating activities or support in certain class periods.
