We cannot with 100% certainly trust our senses, yet they are the only things we can be certain of. Senses are our way of perceiving the world. Everyday our body is gathering information from our senses whether we realize it or not. If we cannot trust our body how can we trust our thoughts which come from our mind which is apart of our body. They can be inaccurate; you can perceive a firework as a gunshot or a giant tree as a small sapling. Not all our information will be given to us directly we have to make our own inferences; we hear a loud noise and infer that it was fireworks when it was a gunshot, or we see a giant tree from far away and thing its a sapling, but we also know of perception and how things far away look bigger so you can infer that from far away the sapling is probably bigger. Our senses didn't fail us but instead what failed us was our assumptions about the information our senses gave us. You need to trust yourself, and before believing in anything thrown at you research and make your own conclusions and find your own truth.

Our world is not perfect, perfect is a false hope that something out there is flawless. It is comforting believing that if perfect does not exist in this world it still does exist. But, I believe that there is no such thing as perfect, and if there were there would be no way to prove that the object has absolutely no flaws. So, instead of obsessing over an idea that does not exist we can enjoy the imperfect world we were given.

Virtue Ethics

I believe Aristotle's virtue ethics is the best ethical theory to base my judgements on. This ethical theory gives room for interpretation, it does not have a set of right or wrong rules, it will vary between each scenario. By concentrating on your actions and the good moral values behind them, you are already making a better choice than constantly thinking about the consequences. Virtue ethics happens in the now, based on your current self. It makes you ask the question, what am I doing and who do I want to be, and not, what have I done? Thinking about life based around this question allows a person to grow and develop a moral character, it makes you focus on the present and future instead of dwelling on the past.
