You are the procurement manager for your organization. Your organization relies on several
commodities in its day-to-day operations. One of the commodities on which your organization relies is
subject to complications in the current market. Any inability to procure this commodity is costly for your
organization. Your task is to identify the nature of the logistics issue complicating procurement of the
commodity and propose a change in the management of its supply chain.
After researching trade publications on supply chain management and participating in Enabling
Learning Activities intended to assist you in researching and analyzing supply chains for a product,
write a proposal in which you identify a problem with the supply chain for your product and propose a
solution. Support your position with evidence from your research and from conclusions you draw from
Enabling Learning Activities.
You will need to explore the transportation requirements of your commodity to include any hazardous
item restrictions, route restrictions, packaging restrictions, trade regulations, etc. Route planning and
storage options are imperative for an effective supply chain that must be capable of adjusting to various
situations.
You will present your proposal for improving the supply chain of the commodity to your organization's
