When I was a young child I spent a lot of my time with my Grandparents. My Father owned his own business and my mother substituted in an elementary school nearby. So I spent most of my time at the Preschool my Grandmother taught at.

Elementary school

When I went to elementary school my mother was a substitute, so I began to pick up on the inner workings of a school.

Middle school

After I went to Middle school my mother got a perment job at the elementary school. So more than before I was picking up on the inner workings of a school.

Beginnings of High School

When I went into high school I was randomly put into an art class. My teacher in that class was very exciting to me because he could both teach seriously and could have fun with the class.

Art in High School

This art teacher made me want to explore further in art so for every year in high school I took an art course. I also joined the NAHS at my high school.

Internship

My senior Year I decided to do an internship at the elementary school that my mother works at. I chose the art teacher because at the time I wanted to go into art education in college

Kindergarteners

The time that I was in everyday Was the same time that the kindergarteners came to art class. Teaching kindergarteners really opened my eyes and made me consider changing my future plans.

Confidence

Through this internship I realized how hard it is to be a teacher and I didn't know if I had the confidence and attention-demanding attitude it takes to be a teacher.

Confidence in Me

One day in my internship that had an incredible impact on my life since then is a day when my teacher wasn't there. We had a substitute in the class and on the sub plans said "We are working on our neckless project, Robert knows what to do let him teach" This truly showed that she had confidence in me even if I didn't have it in myself. This day truly helps me be more confident in myself and makes me think I can do anything.

Major and Minor

All of these experiences have led me to be an education Major and an art minor. After college, I hope to return to teach at the same school I interned in.
