The Pendulum Clock

One great scientific innovation during the Scientific Revolution was the creation of the heliocentric model of the solar system that was made by Nicolaus Copernicus. Copernicus, a Renaissance mathematician and astronomer,

suggested in his phenomenal work "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium" (On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres), published in 1543, that the Earth and other planets revolve around the Sun, rather than the Earth being the center of the universe.
