With AirGroup, users can self-register their AirPrint- and AirPlay-enabled devices – such as a student’s Apple TV in the dorm room or an employee’s AirPrint-enabled printer at the office. Users can also specify which devices they want to share with others and for how long. No need to call IT.

It is no longer necessary to disable AirPrint and AirPlay to reduce multicast traffic storms over the air. Not every mobile device needs to hear about all the background chatter.

Enables access control

You can assign devices to a location, letting users access them based on their proximity. It makes sense that users do not see printers in building #2, if they are NOT there. Makes lots of sense.

Also you can assign what type of users can access which services. For instance, you can designate Apple TVs in classrooms as teachers only.
