My first reaction to the Coronavirus was not too anxious. At first, I wasn’t worried about it. The Coronavirus was not in the United States at first. School continued as it first was in china. When the virus started to spread to the United States; I started to worry. My family and I didn’t speculate too much on it. We thought it wouldn’t be as bad as it is now. We thought it would pass and not spread to the United States. In my neighborhood, everything closes early. Stores close at 6 and other nonessentials close at 3. Many places such as nail, hair, and restaurants are closed. The only things that are open are things that are essential such as markets. The impact COVID-19 has had on me is not pleasant. I used to attend school. School is now online, it's tedious and makes me feel lazy. I’m bored, and feel lonely and trapped in my house. I would love to go see my friends because I miss them. They make me happy and make me feel whole. I am grateful that my family is healthy and well. I’m happy that I get to see them every day and that everyone is doing okay. I’m grateful that my school closed so that COVID-19 can pass. I am grateful that all of my family members are safe and no one has caught the virus. I am grateful for my friends, they are all staying safe and staying home as advised.  Being safe is the most important part, I am grateful that most places are shut down and are trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19. What made today’s special is that I was able to see someone who I wasn’t related to today. I got to see my best friend Andrea, I miss her very much. We haven’t been able to see each other or come in contact very much since COVID-19 has struck us. We had a great time, we laughed and we made food together. We had a sleepover and I was sad that she had to go home today. What do you miss? I miss going out without a mask

What would you tell yourself two weeks ago? I would say to smile more and enjoy what I have.

What will you do after? Focus on my skincare business that I absolutely love.

Upset at home? I’m not upset, I feel like I’m more in jail. I feel trapped inside. I’m not usually home for so many hours. 

Are you excited for this to end? YES! Super excited, I would love to go back to work.

Do you like online school? No, I like to stay home and do my work. Waking up late is amazing. I get so much more sleep now.

What’s the worst part? Not being able to see any of my friends, but overall doing well.

What’re your feelings about COVID-19? I feel upset about all the people who can’t afford the food that we can. Many people are suffering from money. The way everyone is scrambling is horrible. 

How’s it going to the store? Going to the store is the highlight of the day. Going out is amazing and the fresh air is great. I don’t like to wear a mask out though.

What do you want back? I want to go back to work, I love my job.

What is the worst part? I hate that everything is closed, I want to go outside to the beach. The weather is very nice, and no one can go outside.

What food have you tried? I made pasta and many other amazing dishes. The food that I make makes me happy. I’m a chef so I know how to cook well. 

Are you excited for it to be over? Yes! Absolutely, many people are suffering and it needs to end soon.
