1. Preparation:

   • Finalize your OO or INFO draft (approx. 8.5–10 minutes).

   • Review your manuscript and annotate places to experiment with delivery (e.g., tone, emphasis, pacing, gestures).

2. Recording:

   • Find a quiet space with minimal distractions.

   • Using a phone, computer, or any recording device, record yourself delivering your speech.

   • Focus on experimenting with at least three different delivery techniques throughout your speech (see suggestions below).

     • Examples: vocal variety, pacing, strategic pauses, emphasis, gestures (describe them if not on video), dynamics, eye contact, movement.

   • You must record video. Try to perform as you would in a live round.

   • One take only: Don’t edit or record multiple times; this is to capture authentic progress and natural delivery.

3. Submission:

   • Upload your video by the deadline.

   • In your submission, include a brief (3–5 sentence) reflection:

     • What delivery techniques did you experiment with?

     • What parts of your delivery do you feel strongest about?

     • What would you like to focus on improving in the next steps?

I tried to stress specific, important words. I feel strongest about my flow and tone when delivering my speech. In the future, I would love to work on my pronunciation for certain words and pause for my jokes.

I tried to make as much eye contact as I can, but because I focus more on gestures, I’ve got lack of eye contact. I feel the strongest when I start singing or know the next sentence to say. In the future, I’ll work on more eye contact and a more memorable style of delivering, and I should be more confident when speaking.

I tried experimenting with vocal variation and hand gestures when necessary, in order to emphasize a point. I'm most confident about my delivery with humor/sarcasm, because I feel like it comes off as natural rather than forced. In the future, I would like improve on my pacing and emphasis on certain words, to enhance my vocal variation and make my delivery more compelling.

In video I mainly did experiment with hand gestures, I’ve tried to incorporate some interactive hand gestures especially when I preserve a statistic or when listing multiple things at once. Moreover, I also uses emphasis as a way to recapture my audience’s attention and notice the audience about the significant of this particular part. Furthermore, also uses dramatic pause to make my transition between sentences more smoother . I think the strongest part of my speech is my transitions. I feel like the transition of my speech is the most interesting part, because it contains the most jokes. (To be honest even presenting the speech myself as the speaker, I got bored). Thus, I definitely have to work on humors and ways that could make my speech more interesting.

I tried to use more hand gestures but also do so intentionally instead of making meaningless ones. I also tried stressing more parts of my speech and maintaining an engaging tone throughout. I feel strongest about my oracy, but i would also like to work on slowing down a little at certain parts and using more tone variation.

I used eye contacts, pauses and different tones to illustrate my piece. In my opinion, when I mentioned all the statistics, people would show more trust towards me. I used many credible sources and strong statistics to emphasize and support my argument. However, I would try to incorporate more body languages and gestures to my speech to make it more interesting. I could also present my speech with more evident pauses and distinct tones. Especially for parts that demonstrates a clear change.

I focused on experimenting vocal variety, emphasis and pauses in my info speech. I feel strongest abut my pacing of the speech, but i would add more movement and gestures in the future. Also I would like to improve on clearer pronunciation and more eye contact.

Reflection: I have tried some changes of tone, variations of my emphasis, and gestures (not so able to see on the screen). I felt I did good at the last part of the speech where I expresses how magic is true as long as you believes in it. In that part, my voice had a lot of emotions and created emphasis. Things I can improve on includes getting more familiar with the memorization, sometimes I get into like one or two second of unintented silence when I was thinking of my next paragraph. The way of delivering that to make the speech more interesting also needs some work on, I felt my delivery is not as compelling as I imagined it would be when I wrote the sentences. It made me seen a little boring, and I am not sure that it can get the audience's attention.

Rflection:

I experimented my speech with suspenses in delivery to make sure that the speaking pace is fluent and acceptable. Moreover, i added some related hend gestures to make sure what i am converying is clear and understandable. I feel my delivery is strongest in the intro when compared to other parts of the speech, but it would be better if i had added more emotions in the hook. The biggest improvement i wanted to make is to first add more humor into the speech, second, during the second point, i am struggling to actually build an own nudge that will influence the choice of the audience, if i ca achieve that in the future, the speech will be much more engaging and explanatory as the audience can directly experience what is a nudge.

I tried to pivot away from my typical dramatic delivery style -- focusing more on familiarizing myself with the content of the speech instead. The intro is the smoothest, and I lost momentum and stamina through the entire take. I would try to improve my stamina for this speech and think about some more niche rhetorical choices I can employ during delivery to enhance engagement.

I tried experimenting with a slower speaking pace and including pauses. I felt strongest about being able to just read from something and not needing to worry about memorization. I would like to focus on improving the content, tone and expression.
