My character trait is being small minded. " Mama: “Son, how come you talk so much ‘bout money?” Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life. Once upon a time freedom use to be life—now its money. I guess the world really do change…” Walter: “No—it was always money, Mama. We just didn’t know about it.” (74) The quote relates to Walter being small minded because he thinks the world only revolves around money. All he talks about is money and what he wants. He doesn't want anything except money. Lastly in the quote he says money is life even though there is more to life than just earning money and becoming rich.

Another trait was Him being caring. Walter to Travis: “Just tell me where you want to go to school and you’ll go. Just tell me, what it is you want to be—and you’ll be it…Whatever you want to be—Yessir! You just name it, son… and I hand you the world!” (108)
I said that he is caring because in the quote he says to Travis that he will get him anything he ask for. He told him that he could be anything he wants. He encourages him to do what he wants when he gets older. Without actually stating it you can tell he cares about his son and his dreams.

I feel as though Walter acts like a spoiled child. When he didn't get his way he would storm out and go drinking. He could have went out and tried to find a better job and or at least a second job. I sympathize with him because he was trying to help his family. I didn't like how he would only think about what he wanted and not what anyone else did. I also felt he acted childish when he stopped going to work because Mama didn't give him the money. I think he is a good person because he wants to help his family become wealthier but just loves money too much.

This picture relates to Walter because throughout the book he is always drinking or drunk. He gets sullen over time. The dark color indicates his sadness. The only color in the picture was the color of the drink. I feel the message in the picture is that a man is drinking because he is sad. This does relate to Walter because he is always sad. Also he is always drinking.

This describes Walter because he turned into a drunk right after he didn't get the money. He would go to bars instead of work and drink. Instead of being upset in front of everyone he would drink. Lastly because he tries to forget that he doesn't have the money

I picked this song to go with Walter because of the name. Liquor store blues relates to him because in the song he complains about being broke. They don't like the job they have because they don't pay enough. They drink to escape from the truth that they aren't really happy.

My theme is don't keep your feelings bottled up. Mama to Walter: “Something eating you up like a crazy man. Something more than me not giving you this money. The past few years I been watching it happen to you. You get all nervous acting and kind of wild in the eyes—“ (72). People who keep their feelings bottled tend to act different. They could become sad or angry. For Walter he just got more and more obsessed with money. He started acting weird and not how he would always act. He even stopped taking care of his family at one point.
