⭐ UNDERSTANDING CHOLESTEROL BASED ON ADULT SURVEY DATA ⋆.

Explanation ── ★

Have you understood what cholesterol is? This topic discusses cholesterol based on adult survey data, including its effects, symptoms, statistical findings, and normal cholesterol levels, to help you understand cholesterol more deeply and recognize the effects when its levels are too high. Cholesterol is a type of fat produced by the body. It is actually needed to help build new cells so the body can function normally. Cholesterol is usually found in animal based foods such as egg yolks, processed foods, and fried foods. An unhealthy lifestyle can also lead to high cholesterol levels.

Data Explanation ── ★

According to the results of a survey of 212 adults, more than 2,000 calories are consumed by 100 adults, fewer than 2,000 calories are consumed by 97 adults, and exactly 2,000 calories are consumed by 15 adults. Based on information from Alodokter, normal total cholesterol levels are less than 200 mg/dL, while levels between 200–239 mg/dL are considered borderline or near the upper limit of normal. If cholesterol levels reach 240 mg/dL or higher, they are classified as high and should be taken seriously.

Consequences ── ★

Although cholesterol is important for the body, high cholesterol levels can make a person feel easily tired and stressed during daily activities. This can occur because people often consume foods that are high in cholesterol, such as egg yolks, fatty meat, fast food, and fried snacks. An unhealthy lifestyle, including smoking, rarely exercising, and consuming alcoholic beverages excessively, is also one of the most common causes of high cholesterol levels in the body. Blood cholesterol level checks should be carried out if someone is overweight or has high blood pressure, diabetes, or other conditions that may increase cholesterol levels. Cholesterol diagnosis is based on blood test results and physical examinations of the symptoms experienced by the patient. Doctors will also review the patient’s family medical history. In most cases, symptoms are only felt when high cholesterol leads to plaque formation in the arteries, which increases the risk of arterial narrowing or atherosclerosis, blood clots in certain parts of the body, stroke, and heart attack.

References ── ★

https://www.alodokter.com/pentingnya-mengetahui-tingkat-kolesterol-normal

https://rsudtalisayan.beraukab.go.id/detail/kolesterol

https://www.alodokter.com/kolesterol

https://www.rspondokindah.co.id/id/new s/kolesterol-tinggi-penyebab

Explanation of Daily Cholesterol Consumption Levels Based on Data

Introduction

Cholesterol is a waxy substance throughout the body. Our body needs cholesterol to build cells and make vitamins and other hormones, so our liver makes all the cholesterol we need. But cholesterol can pose a problem if we have too much of it. Cholesterol can comes from foods from animals, such as meat, poultry, and diary products. Any food that has high saturated and trans fats can increase the cholesterol in our body. Some tropical oils contain saturated fat that can increase bad cholesterol. If we consume those foods too much or too little, our cholesterol can be unhealthy.

Data Explanations

A survey of 212 adults in Al Irsyad Purwokerto Junior High School that we conducted, shows that the largest category with 100 people consume calories more than 2000 kcal. Another 97 people consume calories less than 2000 kcal, and the smallest category with 15 people consume calories equal to 2000 kcal. From those data, we can conclude that there are many people who are still not really aware of their daily cholesterol levels. 100 people still consume cholesterol more than normal levels, and 97 people still consume cholesterol less than normal levels. Only 15 people consume cholesterol at normal levels. It means many people still need an explanation about the importance of cholesterol for their body.

Consequences

If they consume too much cholesterol, their cholesterol will increase and give some symtomps such as chest pain, foot pain, feel tired easily, breathing difficulty, etc. But if they consume not enough cholesterol, their cholesterol will decrease and makes hormones production disturb. So they will feel depressed and anxiety. Overall, mostly adults haven’t normal cholesterol level yet. For the peoples who don’t have enough cholesterol yet, they have to consume foods that can be increase their cholesterol. And for the peoples who have cholesterol higher than the normal level, they have to reduce food intake that can increase cholesterol and do enough exercise. So their cholesterol will decrease.

References :

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/high-cholesterol/

https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/cholesterol/about-cholesterol

https://www.klikdokter.com/info-sehat/jantung/ini-yang-terjadi-pada-tubuh-saat-kolesterol-rendah?srsltid=AfmBOorpKESvvcXMktI6QhJF4mP2f57kMWBCQ74mxDbSl_bN74_GBv4S

Introduction Breakfast is a crucial meal for students that provides energy and supports cognitive function for learning. The 8B’s breakfast routine data shows that 19,4% of students eat breakfast less than 5 times a week. This causes a lack of energy and reduced focus at school. We need to know what constitutes a good breakfast for us.

Data explanation

Based on survey results, 80,6% of 32 students eat breakfast 5–7 times a week, while 19,4% of students eat breakfast less than 5 times a week. Most of them skip breakfast because of their laziness and because of time. Whereas, breakfast is very important, especially for students. It helps to improve concentration and memory, and also to increase energy to start the day. All of that benefit must be accompanied by balanced nutrition. Based on PGS (Panduan Gizi Seimbang), we have to start breakfast before 09.00 a.m or 1-2 hours after waking up. Breakfast should include carbohydrate, protein, and also vegetable fiber.

Consequences

In conclusion, rarely eating breakfast can cause several negative effects. If students skip breakfast, they will feel lack of concentration, make the day unpredictable, and worse, it can increase the risk of obesity. But, if they eat breakfast every day, it will give nutrition the body needs, and also help to focus and concentration at school.

references

https://www.halodoc.com/artikel/ketahui-jam-makan-yang-baik-agar-tubuh-selalu-sehat

https://www.halodoc.com/artikel/ini-4-dampak-pada-tubuh-saat-melewatkan-sarapan

https://www.alodokter.com/manfaat-sarapan-yang-tidak-boleh-dilewatkan

https://www.siloamhospitals.com/informasi-siloam/artikel/akibat-tidak-sarapan-pagi

⭐️ How Adults Lifestyle Affects Cholesterol; An Explanation from Survey Data

# Introduction :

Do you know what cholesterol is and how dangerous high cholesterol is in our body? This survey will tell you about daily cholesterol related data in adults and give you knowledge about how dangerous high cholesterol can be.

# Data Explanation :

Based on the survey results, 47% of 212 adults who filled out the survey consume more than 2,000 calories per day, while 46% consume less than 2,000 calories per day. And exactly 7% are consumed 2,000 calories per day. Based on WHO, adults usually need about 1,600–3,000 calories per day to maintain a healthy body weight. Eating too little can stress the body and cause an increase in LDL (bad) cholesterol, while eating too much, especially foods high in saturated and trans fats can also raise LDL levels. High LDL can lead to plaque buildup in arteries and increase the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, heart attacks, and stroke.

Why does a survey about cholesterol also look at calories? Cholesterol doesn’t stand alone. It’s strongly influenced by total diet, and calories are the most common entry point to understand dietary patterns. High calorie intake does not always mean cholesterol will increase, but excess calories can increase fat intake. This is why calories are related to higher cholesterol levels. Different types of food also affect cholesterol, especially foods high in fat.

# Consequences :

If people often eat foods high in unhealthy fat and rarely exercise, their bad cholesterol will increase and good cholesterol will decrease. Factors such as obesity, smoking, genetics, age, and certain illnesses can also affect cholesterol levels. When cholesterol is too high, it can cause fatty buildup in blood vessels and reduce blood flow. If the buildup breaks, it may form clots that can lead to heart attacks or strokes. The risk becomes higher when high cholesterol occurs together with high blood pressure.

@ References

⤷ Manage high blood cholesterol levels | Heart Foundation

⤷ Health effects of high cholesterol - Canada.ca

⤷ High Cholesterol: Causes, Symptoms and How It Affects the Body

Introduction

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Research has shown that eating breakfast has a positive impact on students’ academic performance, behaviour, and overall health. Therefore, this survey focuses on Grade 8 students’ breakfast habits to understand whether students are aware of the importance of eating breakfast regularly. The data was collected from a class survey and shown in a bar chart.

Data Explanation

The survey results show that most students in class 8b already have good breakfast habits. 80.6% of students eat breakfast 5-7 times a week, which means that the majority of students regularly maintain their morning intake. Meanwhile, only 6 students eat breakfast less than 5 times a week. This difference shows that students’ awareness of the importance of breakfast is quite high. However, there are some students who do not eat breakfast regularly. The most common reasons they give are that they feel lazy, are not hungry in the morning, or do not have food available. This shows that breakfast habits and home conditions can influence students’ breakfast patterns.

Consequences

If students eat breakfast regularly, they will obtain the calories and essential nutrients needed after fasting for about eight hours while sleeping. These nutrients help provide energy and support brain function so students can concentrate and think well. A good breakfast should follow the principle of Pedoman Gizi Seimbang (PGS), which emphasizes balanced nutrients and proper portions. However, if students skip breakfast or replace it with too many processed foods, their energy and nutritional needs may not be adequately met. As a result, they may feel tired, less focused, and sleepy during class, and the benefits of breakfast will not be optimal. Therefore, students should develop regular and balanced breakfast habits to support their health and academic achievement.

References

https://www.adh-dhikr-press.mssnunibadan.org/blog/the-importance-of-breakfast-in-the-life-of-a-student

https://m.kumparan.com/info-gizi/hubungan-kebiasaan-sarapan-dengan-prestasi-belajar-siswa-fakta-dan-implikasi-26OnHGJc8nZ

https://www.seameo-recfon.org/the-importance-of-breakfast-for-students/

ANALYSIS OF DAILY SUGAR INTAKE AMONG STUDENTS

Did you know that sugar is a type of carbohydrate that serves as an important energy source for the body? Sugar helps support daily activities, brain function, stamina, and concentration when consumed in appropriate amounts. Sugar is commonly found in foods and beverages such as snacks, desserts, sweetened drinks, and processed foods, which are the main sources of added sugar. However, excessive sugar consumption can lead to various health problems, including obesity, diabetes, and dental issues. Therefore, sugar intake should be limited according to the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), which suggests consuming no more than 50 grams of sugar per day to maintain long-term health.

Based on the survey data, 100 out of 152 students had an average total added sugar intake of 28.36 grams per day, with the highest intake reaching 89 grams and the lowest 5 grams, and a mode of 20 grams. On average, students consumed sweet foods or drinks 2.81 times per day, with the highest frequency 10 times, the lowest 1 time, and a mode of 3 times. The average amount of sugar added to beverages was 7.27 grams per day, with a maximum of 24 grams, a minimum of 0 grams, and a mode of 8 grams. The largest source of sugar intake mainly came from food rather than beverages. When compared to the WHO recommended limit, the students' average daily sugar intake was below 50 grams, indicating a normal and healthy consumption level.

The results show that students generally have a good daily sugar intake pattern that should be maintained. If sugar consumption exceeds the recommended limit, it may increase the risk of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, and dental issues. On the other hand, consuming too little sugar can also cause negative effects, including low energy levels, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating.
