It was my first day that I have been started my SIEP at Polyclinic GY 24 Hours. I was introduced to my co-workers by the doctor and the senior staff brought me for a small visit around the clinic and the management office before start the work. The clinic consists of reception, consultation room, treatment room, medicine store and the management office. A short briefing on rules and regulations of the clinic being given by the senior staff.  I was also been briefed fully on the type of medicine, type of items and the prices respectively. . Then, I was told to watch the work flow for the whole day by the doctor. The very first day of my job best to be said as a new experience of my life.

I was told that the working hours here is 13 hours per day, precisely, 9a.m to 10p.m. However, as I am new to the clinic, Dr. Suraess asked me to come for work at 9a.m whereas I will be leaving at 6p.m. I was given patients registration job. The staff taught me on how to record daily registration of patients throughout the computer service. I had registered the patient's name, and the illness before the patients going to the consultation with the doctor. Polyclinic GY was a panel clinic to some of the nearby companies so the registration of patients must be done according to the company that they worked. All the new and old details of patients were always updated throughout the computer service. As per the whole day, I was fully trained on it.  

It was my third day of my work. My senior staff, Miss Chong Rani taught me on the ethics of treating a customer in a proper way.  I observed the way she handle her customers as such she has 15 years’ experience in running this business. She emphasized on being patient and polite to the customers. She added that customers are of many characters and we are supposed to treat accordingly. She’s told me that make sure the patients must feel comfortable to come to the clinic. After the break hours, I have given a job to call back the old patients to get feedback from them. They had improved their health by the medication from the clinic.

It was the fourth day of my SIEP. Miss Chong Rani gave me a clear briefing on the type of medicine were sold at here. She showed the medicine and explained the usage of medicine.  I have given a job by the senior staff to check the medicine stocks in the store room. I listed down the medicines that finished stock and cleared the old stocks. After that, I arranged the new medicine stocks according to the types of medicines. There are various class of medicines such as antipyretic, analgesic, diabetic mellitus and many more. After finished arranging, I dispensed the necessary medicines from the stock to the reception. The medicines were arranged accordingly for children, adults and old people in shelf. Some of the medicine must be stored inside refrigerator to keep it cool. Very few medicines require freezing, but an example would be vaccine injections. Only medicines that carry the instruction “Refrigerate, do not freeze” should be stored in the refrigerator, preferably in the main compartment away from the door or the cooling vent area. As per today, I have gained knowledge the type of medicine that are selling at clinic.

It was Friday and I have moved to management office to do the work.  I have been given a job to call back the patients to medical checkup review. Firstly, I classified the patients according to their ages. While calling them, I was explaining their health condition like glucose level and cholesterol level. I also gave them the correct visiting hours to consult with the doctor for more review. After the break time, Miss Komathi taught me on how to prepare invoice for the panel companies. Later on, I have given information of some panel companies to prepare the invoice. I prepared invoice for three panel companies named, Pensonic, Zen Vista and Red Alert. After finished preparing the invoices for the panel companies, I was filing the invoices according to the panel companies' name.

It was Saturday as well as it was a half day of work. Therefore I was working from 9am to 1pm.  The duty doctor taught me on how to do dressing for small injury. Then, I followed the doctor for the dressing. The patient was injured on her right knee. Firstly, I removed the old dressing and cleaned the wound and surrounding skin. Later on, I put iodine and put plaster on the wound. After that, I covered the wound and the surrounding by the bandage.After finish the dressing, dispensed medicines for the patients according to the doctor's instructions. 

It was my seventh day of my SIEP. I learned on how to give medicine to patients. The duty doctor would updated the medicine that should been given to the patients according to their diseases throughout computer service. According to the updates, I have taken the strips of medicine and put it into plastic cover and then explained to the patients how much the quantity that must be consumed every day.  Even though, it was complicated and time consuming, somehow I learnt to handle it with calm. After lunch break, I have paste sticker on the bottom of the plastic cover. It’s because of giving awareness to patients on handling of medicine. As per today, I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to give good service for customer.

 It was my ninth day of the SIEP. The job given for me was to check the panel companies billing for July. For that, I analysed the pending payment of panel employees. There was 8 panel companies which never paid their payments .Then, I scanned the payment bills and send it through the panel companies' email. I also made extra copies of bills as a prove that I have been already remind them to pay the bills.

The job given for me was to prepare monthly duty roster of doctors for August. I prepared the duty roster for three branches which operates 24 hours and for nine doctors. Each clinic has three doctors have to work according to their roster. After the break, I dispensed medicines for the three branches named Polyclinic GY Lunas, Polyclinic GY Desa Aman and Polyclinic GY Taman Selasih. After dispensed the medicines for the branches, I cleaned back the store room by swept the floor and arrange the medicine stock.

On the 12^th day, I have assigned by Dr. Suraess on how to do cheque for the payment settlement. The cheque was printed by Polyclinic GY for the panel companies. Then it will be post to the every company manager. Before the cheque was printed out, I have assigned to collect data about the patient’s payment for every months. I did mistake because of nervousness but somehow Miss Chong Rani tolerates it and corrects it as well. As per the day, I have learnt to overcome my fear and I gained confidence in trying new things.

It was the thirteenth day of my work. Miss Komathi taught me on how to claim online panel employees registration for the past two days. I have collected the information of the patients such as name, medical ID, diagnosis and many more from the reception to claim the online registration.
 After the break, I claimed the panel employee registration for 5 panel companies named, Teh Brothers, Zen Vista, Sentien, Sinliplas and Lazer House. There was 254 patients' registration had been claimed through online service.

It was the last day of my SIEP.  I have helped Miss. Chong Rani to record the clinic income and expenses. For that, I collected the important data of clinic’s expenses from DR. Suraess and I updated the record through online. Later, I have worked at customer service counter. After my lunch break, I continued my work as usual. Finally, I have completed my SIEP project with full of satisfaction and I have learnt a lot throughout my work experience here.
