Historical Context: At the time this document was written the Choctaw Indians and the English were engaging with each other peacefully and participating in bartering and trading. They share the land together even though the English want it for themselves.
Intended Audience: The author was reaching out to his own people and sharing his thoughts and opinions about the English and their supposed intentions with the Choctaw land.
Purpose: The author wrote this in order to put his people at ease about the English because it is Alibamo Mingo's belief that the English will maintain a peaceful relationship and share the land so that both the Choctaw's and the English can use it.
Point of View: Considering the author was a chieftain they would likely feel responsible for their people and making them feel at ease. The only thing that Alibamo Mingo is not at ease with is the Superintendent, who takes every word out of his mouth very seriously in hopes to take the land for the English. The chieftain is trying to console his people.

H- This was written only two years after The French and Indian War ended. In this war France lost most of its holdings in the New World with much of it being handed to now England. This meant a big change for the Native Americans living there because the French and English had very different intentions.
I- The audience was mainly the author's own people. This could change how he writes about the change. There is a lot of uncertainty with what was happening, so it could make sense for him to downplay the threat that the English is.
P- The purpose was to talk about how things would or would not change with the changing of power. He tries to say that not many things would change and calm the nervousness of his people.
P- The author is the the leader of his people in one of the most uncertain times he will face in his tribe, so he may feel that it is necessary to downplay the threats of the English. Or, his high social status among the tribe could have caused a disconnect between how he is affected and how his people are affected. The different social classes between the author and audience could cause differences in how they are affected.

H - This was the end of the 7 years war. The French were removed from North America due to the 7 years war. Because of this, more of the English came and they had to share this land. The Native Americans had to adapt to this change.

I - The audience was the general audience of his own people. He is still adapting to this new change, so his words might not show exactly what is happening, as he doesn’t know fully what is happening. Regardless, he notes these changes to his people.

P - The purpose was for the audience to understand what changes would be coming and what changes would not as he also notes the English’s behavior, such as what they talk about, how they treat women, what he likes about them, what he doesn’t like, and others. He gives his opinion on how they should share the land, and tells his people they don’t need to be nervous about the English settling, as said in his last sentence.

P - This was from the Chief’s point of view. He tries to make his people at ease, so he most likely tried to soothe or calm his people as this was a change, which could’ve caused him to belittle some of the effects. He claims that he is happy with these people except for one policy. He also brings religion into this as he says that he wouldn’t believe the “Great King” would allow someone like the “Superintendent” to deceive them. Thus, his views could be exaggerated a little to help his people be at ease.

H (historical context): Took place in 1765, after the 7 year war. It seems to be at the point where the English gradually started taking/asking for more land from the Native Americans. Even though the Natives had helped the English and had already quite a bit of their land.
I (intended audience): It seems the audience was for the people back in Europe, along with their rulers. And, it could have also been for the people that were settling here in North American to show what their other colony members were doing to the Native Americans.
P (purpose of the document): This document was written to get information of what was happening to the Native Americans from their perspective and how they felt they were being treated by the English. I feel the goal was to give this information to people of Europe to prove that the settlers really weren't being as nice as they said they were being, just like the did when the were first exploring the land.
P (point of view): The author was definitely influenced by the Native American perspective since that's where they had gotten their information from. Once again the main idea was to see how the leader of the the Choctaw and his people were feeling about the English and what they were doing, which wasn't to good on how he was feeling about them at that point.

H- This took place in 1765 which was after the 7 year war. France lost a lot to the English and so the Natives living there went through change. The English treated the Natives very differently than the French did.
I- The audience is the authors people. He's trying to share what is going on and how it's unpredictable so things could change.
P- The purpose was to caution his people of potential change in the conditions. The English were very different than the French so it was unpredictable how the English would treat the Natives. He does however, try to take a calming approach to telling them instead of making them panic.
P- This was written from the Chief's perspective and what he's observing in the change of leadership. He is a leader so what he says is going to influence his people so he took a calmer approach to just help keep them aware of the situation without making them worry and panic about everything changing.

H - This document was written in 1765. At this time, the Seven Year War between the British and French had ended and the French lost many of their holdings in America. This caused the French to leave America and stop working with the Native Americans. This also meant that the British would be taking over the areas the French controlled.
I - The intended audience of this document was the leader, Alibamo Mingo's people. He wrote about his opinions of the British taking over. Also, since everyone was very uncertain of what was going to happen, he could have written this to give the audience an idea what was going to happen in a calm way, possibly even understating the threat to prevent panic.
P - The purpose was to inform his audience that the British were going to be taking control and many things were going to change. He wanted to make sure they knew the British were not the French and they did things and behaved differently, such as the way they treated women.
P - The document was written from the Choctaw leader's perspective. Since Mingo was the leader, he would know of the possible threat facing the tribe and know that it was his duty to help his people. He would know what he thought was best for the tribe and have opinions on what the British were going to do. He might things some things would be beneficial and others harmful. Also, since he was the leader he would try to calm his people.

H- In 1765, when this document was written, it reflects the 7 Years War that occurred. The Choctaw leader describes the impact that the wars had on the Natives when the French had been removed. The British then came in after they left, and took control.
I- This source's intended audience was meant for his people. The leader wanted to show them how they must handle their arrival, and to prepare for it.
P- The purpose of this document was for the Choctaw leader to influence his audience on how to approach the situation of the Europeans (particularly the British) coming in. He expected them to be treated more fairly, and to have a more positive outlook on situations. He encouraged them to treat them as equals, as that's what he expected how the they would treat them.
P- As written from the perspective of the Choctaw leader, it would be expected he would approach the situation and letter with leadership. He would try to keep everyone from panicking and him being a leader, would affect him tremendously. He would most likely be trying to keep all signs of fear and weakness out of this document.

H - The Seven Years war had just ended and the French were no longer in North America, so the Native Indian had to get used to the changing conditions and new Europeans coming into their land.
I - The intended audience was the Choctaw people, since it was addressed to them the leader most likely spoke about the new changes in the most positive way possible to keep the morale of their tribe up and fear under control.
P - The author’s purpose was to inform his people about the new changes to come because of the Seven Years war and the leaving of the French. This meant that different Europeans (British) would be interacting with their tribes, meaning expectations for trade, land, etc. would have to adapt.
P - The point of view of the Choctaw leader was obviously going to be different from that of a European, they had depended a lot more on European resources than the Europeans depended on them. Thus, they had to be aware of the change in economy to be able to continue their way of life.

H: This document, a reflection by the Choctaw leader Alibamo Mingo, was written 1765. This was during the American Colonial era. More specifically, this document was written shortly after the Seven Years War, a war between the British and French. The British were the victors of that war, and the French were forced to retreat from North America. This spelled uncertainty for the Native Americans who were allied with the French during that war, and they were forced to adapt quickly.

I: The reflection was intended for his people, the Choctaw, and especially the ones who were worried. While this was never explicitly stated, it can be inferred through his word usage and optimism. For those who were anxious, he comforted them. Otherwise, the document addressed them as a whole.

P: Mingo wrote this document to reassure the Choctaw while they were trying to quickly adapt to the changes that resulted from the Seven Years War, and inform them about what the British are like. It explains that the British are not too bad, despite a certain problem about women, and even that ceding land to them will be in the Choctaws' favor.

P: This document was written from the perspective of a leader during an uncertain time. If Mingo had any particularly concerning doubts, he hid them in order to reassure the Choctaw.

Due to this, the French were kicked out, leaving the natives with the ruthless English - which they had bad relationships with.
I - Mingo's audience was his own people. He wanted to let them know of a struggle in which he has to adapt to a new lifestyle, feeling confused.
P - A warning to Mingo's people. The peaceful alliance the natives had with the natives would be no more, and he intends to inform his brothers about this new change that is yet to come from the British. He tried to extenuate the reality of the situation to his people, he doesn't want a riot to occur.
P - Written by Mingo, he undermines some of the problems with the English. The Natives had to go through a drastic change because the French and English had different intentions and ways of treating them.
I- The audience were Alibamo Mingo's own people. Alibamo was sharing his views on what he portrayed the English men's intentions were for the Choctaw land.
P- The purpose of this document was to inform how different life would be for the Natives with the British taking control. He has a calmer approach to informing his people of how the English would treat them in order to keep them more calm. Alibamo claims that not much will change and the English will share the land with the Choctaw's.
P- The document was written from the Choctaw leaders point of view. Due to the fact that he is the leader he wants to influence his people to stay calm. Although they will be going through many changes he encourages them to stay calm but be aware of all that is happening. The main them is how the English and Natives were treated differently because of the fact that the French were removed from the Americas as they lost the war. The Natives had to change their way of living massively because the French were strong allies for the Natives.
I- The presumed intended audience is the Choctaw people.
P- The purpose of this document is to inform the Choctaw that the French are going to be leaving and the English will take their place. Alibamo Mingo wanted peace and he wrote as if they wanted the English to be their new allies.
P-This letter was written by Choctaw Chief, Alibamo Mingo’s, point of view.
