It also has a video and some tips for students who may need extra help.]
Hey kids!

This app allows students to draw out addition problems. This allows them to model the problems to solve them beyond using the algorithm. In a classroom, this app would likely be on an iPad or similar personal device, so I would have students use the devices during a math workshop so they could all take turns getting in some independent practice.
https://www.mathlearningcenter.org/resources/apps/number-pieces-basic

[This math practice allows students to practice solving word problems. They will have to analyze the information in the problem to decide how to set up and solve the problem. It helps them practice both subtraction and addition.]
Class, go to this website and pratice the word problems found there. You will have to use your thinking skills to turn the word problems into equations, but I know you can do it! Have fun and get learning!
https://www.ixl.com/math/grade-3/multi-step-word-problems

[For the create tool, I have found an online whiteboard for the students to use during a lesson. This whiteboard, called Stoodle, allows students to draw and create whatever they want. It will be helpful for students in the create stage because it allows them to create and solve their own problems with a friend. People can connect to the Stoodle whiteboard, so students could take turn writing problems for a friend and solving each other's. It can also be used on the iPad.]
Class, click on the website below and connect to the same whiteboard as your partner. We're going to practice writing problems and solving the problems our partner wrote.
http://stoodle.ck12.org/
