Those women are the reason women can vote in this day and age. 3. The fact that they stood up to the men for 100 years and didn’t give up is very empowering so all those women are still an inspiration. As i have said it took 100 years for the women to get what they wanted. On August 26, 1920 it became the 19th amendment that women had the right to vote. That was just one of the steps for women's rights. I chose this topic because it is the most empowering and sad a little because they worked so hard for that but we still have a long way to go.

Dry's used the reasoning that physical abuse and poverty were a product of alcohol intake, therefore using those claims to oppose the wets. People started to loose focus on the Temperance movement during the civil war, but was revived, due to the Prohibition Party and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. in 1919, the 18th Amendment passed, stating the states prohibition sales, transportation, and manufacturing of intoxication liquors. During the Expedition, Sacagawea found her brother as the leader of a Shoshone indian group that they ran into, because after she was captured, she never saw her dad or brother for a long time. Once Sacagawea left the expedition, the details of her life become more elusive. In 1809, it is believed that she and her husband — or just her husband, according to some accounts — traveled with their son to St. Louis to see Clark. Pomp was left in Clark's care. Sacagawea gave birth to her second child, a daughter named Lisette, three years later. Only a few months after her daughter's birth she reportedly died at Fort Manuel in what is now Kenel, South Dakota, around 1812.

These intoxicating liquors made an uproar between two groups. The drys who supported the ban of alcoholic consumption and the wets criticized the ban of alcohol. A woman that was a hard supporter during the temperance movement was Carrie Nation. She attacked alcohol-serving establishments with a hatchet.

Slaves were bought and captured in Africa and were brought to America on slave ships.  When the slaves arrived  in America they were sold at slave auctions where they were purchased by white settlers. Once purchased, they were forced to live on plantation and put to work by their slave masters and overseers under inhumane conditions. They worked long hours in all types of weather sometimes without food and water. They were often beaten and in some cases hung if the overseer or slave master felt they were being rebellious or if they wanted to make an example out of them. This continued until slaves started to rebel and fight for their freedom. Pioneers such as Harriet Tubman, the leader of the underground railroad and Frederick Douglass, an abolitionist, were just two of the many that fought hard to do away with slavery. Slavery lasted for 245 years and finally ended in 1865.
