I'm Nicola (Nic) Robertson. Working for the Children's Services, I am local to the University of Lincoln. I've moved from Lincolnshire Police to Children's Services where I line manage staff with a team that supports children with special educational needs and disabilities to access education - be this working with their medical teams, families and legal teams. We are in the early stages of using a new database to have varying professionals feed into assessments in "real time" and have already seen the pros and cons of this digital tool.
I'm quite naive to the digital arena beyond the superficial level of emails and basic data gathering. Therefore, in relation to my expectations, I believe this will be a field where I have the potential for significant development and a much better insight to digital communications. I hope it is something that will improve my practice and confidence within my current, and future roles.

My name is David "Chris" Gunter, I am a training manager for a front-line squadron in the RAF. Digital Communication to me is fundamental to operational throughput. Therefore, mastering it is essential to any organisation aspiring to success. That said, the business context i.e. Marketing is new to me. I am hoping to enhance my knowledge of how my workplace can effectively use digital communication, but I really am interested in the business context more.

My name is Matt Brown, and I currently work for the Lincolnshire Co-op, in the role of Resourcing Manager. There are a plethora of communication tools used throughout the business to ensure clear messages are delivered at all levels, however, advancements in technology are seeing new methods being introduced into our culture, with the most recent addition being our 'app', tailored to the business need and allowing all colleagues access to important information at their fingertips. I'm looking forward to learning about how dialogue through the digital arena can support business progression and hopefully gain further skills and knowledge that can support me in my current role.

Hello,
My name is Karrina Bertinshaw, I am an Engineering Maintenance Co-ordinator in the Aviation industry. Working for a global corporation such as DynCorp International, I have slowly been introduced to the world of digital communications and its increasing importance in international operations. I currently work in Kandahar, Afghanistan, a communication blackhole on occasions. I expect that this module will provide a much-needed insight into the intricacies of Digital Communication in the modern age. Hopefully broadening my understanding of modern modes and methods of communication, I might be able to alleviate some of the issues I regularly come across in my place of business.
