3 things I learned:

1. The power of using an identity web such as this which could easily be used at the Preschool level

2. The use of identity will only strengthen a classroom and leans into each child as an individual

3. How identity can be used directly in teaching to make an impact.

1. How can you use an identity tool such as this to get to know your families and how do you do that while respecting privacy and cultural approaches to something like discussing identity.

2. I want to learn more about how to build connections with this into the daily classroom (the online template was a great start)

1. How would you approach using something like this with younger learners and families, with Preschool often being the first entry into education?

1. Recognizing and honoring students' identities can help integrate them into the school/program.

2. Storytelling is powerful and can be used in a variety of ways by both teachers and students of various ages.

1. Identity is such a polarizing topic for many people right now. How can we continue to approach it appropriately in this tense political climate?

2. I want to learn more about evidence-based practices for approaching identity through storytelling in the classroom.

1. What does the research show about how students who understand each others backgrounds interact in the classroom - or what are the tangible benefits for families, teachers, and students that we can articulate.

1. Using a visual identity (web, wheel, etc.) with images vs. writing (only writing) would be a great idea to help all students feel connected to the classroom community.

2. Identity is a crucial part of a child's education.

1. I would like to learn more about how to do some of this work well with families while respecting their cultures and preferences on how much they participate.

2. I want to know how to best storytell in my classroom for student engagement, connection, and learning.

One question I have:

1. How best to help students feel comfortable enough in the classroom to share their true selves. Many students who feel like outsiders may not share honestly which can create a personal barrier between them and their learning.
