We all know that everyone on our staff works well together and has fantastic ideas that contribute immensely to our clients success, so quality of ideas and rapport between members is definitely not a problem. However, one problem we may encounter in online communications is the effectiveness and efficiency that we will experience during our virtual meetings. Thus, selecting the perfect online venue is of central importance. Two possible online venues to meet are Facebook and Skype. However, with conference calls we ran into technical issues surrounding certain members carriers not allowing conference calls. A similar problem was encountered with group texts and was made even more difficult due to the difficulty of articulating complex ides via text. Email was initially an effective solution to this, however with the rise of more modern modes of communication, some members simply do not regularly check their email, resulting in many messages being lost. This is why we are considering using either Skype or Facebook as possible solutions. Considering all the pro's and cons of both options we are certainly faced with a difficult decision. However, after looking at the options Skype appears to be the best solution due to the fact that users are able to use video conferencing that closely replicates a face-to-face meeting. Most of the cons associated with Skype are not issues that will effect most users, given our high tech organization and strong emphasis on interpersonal skills none of our users should be affected by the cons listed for Skype.
