A beautiful day is almost finished. My favorite part of today’s lesson was when we
discussed how we can work internationally. It was interesting to hear how they
do it in other countries and it was great that we got the catalogue with ideas
for international activities. That will definitely be useful, when I come back to Denmark.

Ideas for international activities.
Make it simple - example: Just go to the supermarket. Which products are on the shelves? where are the different things produced?
Rita told us about some activities - very inspiring. Even more are in the compendium as we have been given.
A lovely day together with the other students are gone - many impressions to be machined ... and I'm looking forward to started with an international activity when I come home in my class.

I think that it was a very good day. And an interesting angle today is that erverything we do in daily life can actually be used to talk internationalization with the students. An simple example would be a talk about which country is the knife and fork we eat with every day is made and under which conditions people are working there in relation to our country.
But the best thing i thought was that we got a catalog full of ideas to work internationally.

My learnings for today are – keep it simple, maybe make it local? – make small
steps – and then develop together with the children. I think you should know
something about your own culture and history before you head for the world. You
need a platform to jump from. Begin in your local supermarket – where are the
goods from? Walk in your surroundings – explore your surroundings.

PS. A terrible sunny day :-)

"A global citizen is someone who identifies with being part of an emerging world community and whose actions contribute to building this community's values and practices".

Following Ron Israel's research, there is still along way to go to reach the aim of all people being global citizens. Today, we exchanged ideas and were introduced to a whole catalogue of ways on how to help our students on their way of reaching active global citizenship and teach them how to act and think internationally.

Last but not least... I once again really enjoyed the French lesson and the beautiful location!

Becoming a global citizen is nowadays an achievable aim. According to Ron Israel the forces of technology and modern communication can already lead to a global identity. Especially our students are very much involved in communication through social media as "Facebook, Instagram, ... "This does not necessarily make them global citizens but with creating the right awareness, for example of global matters, it is a first and very important step.
Furthermore we got many ideas for international activities that I am eager to implement once I get back to Germany.

How to be a global citizen? It sounds so serious - but today I got a lot of ideas what and how I can do with my pupils to make them a global citizen.

I think i can start with some simple steps with my cclass and to start an etwinning project based on that topic.

Thank you for the ideas I got from our tutor and from my group mates! And I got all these on a beautiful day:)
