Why a GTPA?
The common assessment increases the confidence of parents, teachers, staff members and the community by ensuring students who are graduating and moving toward a registry of teaching, are also confident in their own abilities to be "classroom ready". To ensure future teachers are capable and ready, the GTPA provides an opportunity for all pre-service teachers to produce evidence of both their practice and performance.

What are the main features of the GTPA?
The GTPA is categorised into 5 different sections to ensure all pre-service teachers have at least a graduates understanding of how to; 1. plan using data, 2 Teach and learn, 3. Assess, provide feedback and professional judgment, 4. Reflect on teaching and 5. Appraise the impact of teaching. To successfully complete the GTPA, teachers must show that they have at least a graduates understanding for 3 or more of the 5 catergories.

What things will you need to do on placement in order to successfully complete the GTPA?
I believe that it will be absolutely necessary for all students to complete daily reflections and to communicate as much as possible with their supervising teachers and support people. I also think it would be extremely beneficial to take note and gain evidence of as many encounters as possible.
