The GTPA is a rigorous, relevant and valid assessment of teacher proficiency against the APST. It provides the teacher, school and wider community with a repertoire of evidence and data indicating the quality of teaching and learning being enacted by that educator. It is useful for teachers in evaluating the efficacy of their strategies and allows them to make evidence based decisions about the direction of their teaching skills.

-          Reflect and self-regulate teaching and learning on a weekly basis 

-          Revise direction of teaching and learning in accordance to feedback and reflection 

-          Keep meticulous and detailed logs of these reflection as well as collect a detailed repertoire of diverse data and evidence.

Reflection

Ensure national consistency and set a standard of quality teachers. It also proves classroom readiness and develops reflective practitioners. Evidence of my impact on students learning, which is at the crux of the GTPA. This shows that I understand the teaching and learning cycle (cyclical). 

 
What are the main features of the GTPA? 

The culmination of 4 years of study and evidence of how I’ve grown as a teacher against the five practices: Planning, teaching, assessing, reflecting, and appraising.  

Formative assessment and ends in summative assessment. (4000-5000 words, no more than 90 pages).

-Ensure that all mandatory documents are printed prior to 2 days of planning. 

-Consult the student booklet and discuss in detail what is required by both the supervising teacher and myself.

-Consult regularly with supervising teacher to ascertain feedback on the practice.
