Agreement trade between India and USA

On February 13th 2025 the president of the president of USA, Donald Trump hosted the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Based on the Ministry of External Affairs the agreement dictates that:

"The leaders resolved to expand trade and investment to make their citizens more prosperous, nations stronger, economies more innovative and supply chains more resilient. They resolved to deepen the U.S.-India trade relationship to promote growth that ensures fairness, national security and job creation. To this end, the leaders set a bold new goal for bilateral trade – "Mission 500” – aiming to more than double total bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.

Recognizing that this level of ambition would require new, fair-trade terms, the leaders announced plans to negotiate the first tranche of a mutually beneficial, multi-sector Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) by fall of 2025. The leaders committed to designate senior representatives to advance these negotiations and to ensure that the trade relationship fully reflects the aspirations of the COMPACT. To advance this innovative, wide-ranging BTA, the U.S. and India will take an integrated approach to strengthen and deepen bilateral trade across the goods and services sector, and will work towards increasing market access, reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, and deepening supply chain integration.

The leaders welcomed early steps to demonstrate mutual commitment to address bilateral trade barriers. The United States welcomed India’s recent measures to lower tariffs on U.S. products of interest in the areas of bourbon, motorcycles, ICT products and metals, as well as measures to enhance market access for U.S. agricultural products, like alfalfa hay and duck meat, and medical devices. India also expressed appreciation for U.S. measures taken to enhance exports of Indian mangoes and pomegranates to the United States. Both sides also pledged to collaborate to enhance bilateral trade by increasing U.S. exports of industrial goods to India and Indian exports of labor-intensive manufactured products to the United States. The two sides will also work together to increase trade in agricultural goods.

Finally, the leaders committed to drive opportunities for U.S. and Indian companies to make greenfield investments in high-value industries in each other’s countries. In this regard, the leaders welcomed ongoing investments by Indian companies worth approximately $7.35 billion, such as those by Hindalco’s Novelis in finished aluminum goods at their state-of-the art facilities in Alabama and Kentucky; JSW in steel manufacturing operations at Texas and Ohio; Epsilon Advanced Materials in the manufacture of critical battery materials in North Carolina; and Jubilant Pharma in the manufacture of injectables in Washington. These investments support over 3,000 high-quality jobs for local families." Ministry of External Affairs (2025)

These among many others articles was proclaimed this day, but these was the trade ones. In summary the articles want Indian and Americans citizens to have an economic growth and more work opportunities, it want to create new trades that benefit both countries and also reduce some tariffs, destroy trade barriers, make invests, among others.

References

Ministry of External Affairs (2025) India - US Joint Statement, https://www.mea.gov.in/bilateral-documents.htm?dtl/39066

"Globalization is a social, economic, political, and technological process that affects the whole world and seeks constant communication between countries. Costa Rica is no exception. This process ha/Is many advantages, but it also brings some negative aspects that are not always seen in the same way.

Among the positive aspects, one stands out: Costa Rica’s success in the tourism sector, which has helped promote 1st he country and achieve a good position in the market. As we know, Costa Rica is a well-known destination, and the country’s connection with the rest of the world is very broad, attracting tourists from different cultures.l

However, this also exposes Costa Rica and its population to many changes and effects of globalization, such as when foreign cultures influence our own. This could put our customs at risk. Many of the changes that come from globalization are invisible because we have adopted them without realizing and now see them as normal. An example of this is that we are leaving behind our own traditions, even though many tourists come to experience our culturewe don’t value the authenticity of our identity, we won’t be able to share it with tourists.

The most important thing is to teach new generations about our identity and make them proud of it, because it is what defines us as Costa Ricans."

Globalization has brought opportunities to Costa Rica, especially in the tourism sector, helping the country position itself internationally. However, it also presents challenges, such as the threat to cultural identity, as the influence of other cultures may cause local customs to fade. It is essential for Costa Rica to value and promote its traditions to ensure its cultural heritage is preserved and authentically shared with both future generations and the tourists who visit the country

(diario extra,2019).

References:

https://www.diarioextra.com/noticia/afecta-la-globalizacion-la-identidad-del-costarricense
