The Declaration of Independence is a document that was approved by Continental Congress. This document separated the 13 colonies from Great Britain. This document states everyone was created equal and these rights should be protected. If these rights are withheld people have the right to revolt. 

The Battle of Lexington and Concord started with the British marching into Lexington to try and prevent the possibility of a revolution. They did this by trying to take their weapons away from the colonists. This was one of the first battles of the American Revolution. It was also called “Shot heard ‘round the world”.

George Washington’s army crossed the Delaware River and defeated Hessian mercenaries in Trenton. The victory reasserted some control of New Jersey. This improved the unity of the colonial army.  

The French and American armies formed an alliance to fight against the British army. The army was led by General George Washington. The war ended when the British General Lord Charles Carnwallis surrendered to George Washington. 

The Constitution of the United States set in fact three principles of branches in the federal government. This document includes ways the government is structured and how it operates. This protects the citizens and the states.

The Stamp Act required colonists to pay taxes on every printed paper. Playing cards, dice, and newspapers were also taxed. This was only for the American Colonies and not England. As a result, the colonists boycotted all British goods.

This was a protest from the Colonists for “taxation with representation”. The colonists dumped 342 cheats of tea that were imported into the harbor. They destroyed the entire shipment of tea in protest.

This was a period in time where there were mass executions. If you were caught talking bad about Jacobins your head would get chopped off. This would happen even if you were wrongfully accused. 

The assembly was locked out of the hall at Versailles. Instead, they went to an indoor tennis court. They took an oath to not separate until they had a written constitution for France.

Angry French citizens attacked the Bastille. This gave the people a sort of courage to fight against the people that had always ruled over them. The Bastille was a state prison and was destroyed. 

This gave people the rights of liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression. This challenged the authority of Louis XVI. These rights were protected by law.

Louis was sentenced to death by a majority of votes. He was executed by guillotine. He was executed for treason.

Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military general. Napoleon Bonaparte called himself “first citizen. He also took over the power of France.

Over 7,000 Parisians were led by market women to the city of Versailles. They demanded bread and political reforms on the king. This was a 12 mile march.

This was a law passed that caused the subordination of the Catholic Church to the French Government. This was passed by the National Assembly. This led to the violent de-Christianization during the French Revolution.

King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette tried to flee Paris during the French Revolution. They were unsuccessful and returned to Paris. This was an event that eventually led to their execution.
