We have had so much fun getting deep and nerdy with CGI with all of you this year! Thank you for all of your questions, from everything such as best practices for cubes with second graders to what makes for a strong embellishment. Thank you for always being ready to go the extra mile to ensure math instruction is strong, from welcoming us in to partner for for observations or asking for more IPP time to build content knowledge. We deeply appreciate the three of you and wish you a wonderful school leader appreciation week!

Sade, I sent you a text today that said, "Praise God for you" and I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart. This year has been hard and at sometimes has felt unmanageable and down right impossible. And I think all of us have asked ourselves at one point or another, "Is this the right role for me? I am cut out to do this?' We never know why God opens doors and places us where HE wants us to be and I'm 10,000% sure that He placed you at CHES at the right time and for the right reasons. The list of reasons why I admire your leadership is quite long so I'll spare you the reading and start with three:
1) You put kids first. Period. Point blank. Full stop. You see them as whole people and push your team to make decisions in their best interest, always. Even if that means pissing off some adults.
2) You CONSISTENTLY model for leaders and teachers how you want kids to be treated. You love on kids hard, get to know their quirks, likes and dislikes, find small moments to celebrate and affirm them AND you simultaneously don't play that -- you hold kids to your bar because you know they can meet and exceed it.
3) You bring your full honest self to the work. Vulnerability breeds trust. Your team trusts you because you've let them in and have made CHES safe for folks to be their full selves...even if that includes a little sophistiratchedness like myself, lol.
And BONUS -- 4) You are a kid and adult whisperer. I have TWO names for you. Der***...and Ms. F*ll**. That's it. That's all. You see the best in people and their potential. That means A LOT!!!

Thanks for being the homie! Thanks for making hard work so much fun. CHES is my happy place and I'm so glad you're at the helm. Love you like oxtail, rice, and peas AND plantain.

You are the reading whisperer and CHES has been so lucky to have your expertise over the years! It's so amazing to watch you work -- your genuine love of reading and passion for our kids and their love of reading and growth shines through in every walkthrough and piece of feedback. You aren't afraid to jump in and model the excellence you want to see from our teachers. You go ALL in with kids -- from the smiles, elbow bumps, excitement when a light bulb goes off to the highest leverage feedback around their goals. Thank you for all you do! You are appreciated!!!!

The image says it all! You are our 1st grade dean shero! This year has had it challenges (particularly around staffing) and you step in and step up! Your leadership in 1st grade has been admirable -- whether you're jumping in to teach a class, providing strong feedback hot off the press, and keeping the experience for kids as consistent as possible. It is hard to convey optimism when things feel bleek and yet you've kept the train on the tracks and our kids haven't missed a beat! Appreciate you!!!!

CGI anyone?!?! You have made it a point to ensure our K instruction is RIGHT and TIGHT! Whether you are real-time coaching, leading strong debriefs, or teaching the content yourself, your bar for what instruction must look and sound like has been so strong. This is all in addition to flexing your adaptive muscles to meet your people where they are and to provide the best supports. I've watched you navigate some challenging waters this year with grace, constancy, consistency, and optimism. Thank you for all you do for our babies and team! Appreciate you!

You are LOVE and LOGIC! On Periodt!!!! Our kids are YOUR kids! You are able to maintain accountability, consistency, and structure while ALWAYS upholding respect, dignity, care, and love for ALL kids (and ALL means ALL). Folks might think you walk around sprinkling magic pixie dust to get students where you need them to be and only if that were so easy. You child-whisperer-ness is conveying belief and knowing that all kids with the right supports can be their best selves. I've always appreciated that about you from our KIPP days to now. Thank you for consistently showing us what's possible -- our kids deserve warmth and kindness and community and joy and love and demand (because you know they can!). AF and CHES is soooooo lucky to have you!

"Simply the best! Better than all the rest! Better than anyone!" Ms. Tina had no idea she was writing these lyrics about you! Schools cannot run without strong Ops teams. Let me say this again...Schools cannot run without strong Ops teams. CHES is a well-oiled machine because YOU ARE THE BEST and you unapologetically push your people to be their best. You know what the school needs and when it needs it. You and Sade move in lockstep and that's so important to the overall operation of school. I have no clue about all the Ops in and outs but I think that's the point -- you make the path clear for folks to be able to focus on their primary job. THANK YOU for all you do!!!! It doesn't go unnoticed and it's appreciated!!!

Your folks are rockin' and rollin' and that's a testament to your strong leadership! I've really appreciated watching the growth of your coachees. JPW was legit showing off last week in the strong execution of feedback he had received the week before and as a result of that implementation of feedback, learning was ON FIRE! You really geek-out with your coachees on the content to support deep understanding, even better execution, and therefore stronger student outcomes. This work really matters to you and you consistently bring that passion and energy to folks you coach and the broader team. Thank you for all you do!

I mean WOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEE! You undoubtedly have a big job and you approach it with grace, love, determination, and humor. You spend time with the friends that some would count out -- except that you make it your business to ensure that we are giving them what they need and deserve. I have NEVER experienced such swift outcomes with the CSE -- you legit don't play that -- you ensure that 1000% of what needs to get done, gets done and you do it in partnership and always putting kids' first. You help our teachers see all that our kids are capable of -- and this deeply deeply matters. Thank you for being their champion and our hero!
