The White Castle was owned by Billy Ingram, who had $700 (equivalent to $10,529.40 in today's money) and a dream to make eating out quicker. At the White Castle, customers could buy small burgers, "sliders". And while there was no drive- through, the quicker pace of this restaurant sped things up a lot. This soon to be world- wide famous restaurant was founded by the brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. Burgers were 15 cents, and the menu only consisted of 9 items. The menu was smaller in order to provide higher quality food, and quicker work.
