Thousands travel to the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif to welcome in Nawroz, a pre-Islamic festival. Local strong men raise a great Janda, an Islamic banner, to herald the beginning of spring and the start of the new year. If it is lifted in one smooth motion, it is seen as a good omen for the months to come. (You have to hold on to something when you live in a country that has already survived more than 30 years of war.)

Sports:
Afghanistan would like its national game, buzkashi, or goat-grabbing, to be an Olympic sport. Regarded as the world's wildest game, it involves riders on horseback competing to grab a goat carcass, and gallop clear of the others to drop it in a chalked circle. It has been played on Afghanistan's northern steppe for centuries. The game used to be the sport of rich rival warlords but is now also financed by Afghan mobile phone companies and private airlines. But it is still not a sport for the faint-hearted, and women should not apply. Also Afghanistan are great at cricket we have the best bolwer in ICC (international cricket concuil)

Ello. I am from France and my country is well know for its nice pastry and bakery it has. To be fair there isn't such thing as 'french food' as it is mainly based around pasteries and bakeries like i had mentioned before! In France there are many different places and the place i come from is Villejuif, Paris. France may sound like a basic place to you due to the fact that you hear it everywhere and may think it isn't that interesting, however one of the things that interest me the most about France is...the lines and different trains and places there are. Let me give you an example of what i mean! In London as you may know there are also lines but they are described by words e.g. Victoria Line. However, in Paris the lines go from Line 1-14 and take you all around Paris where you would like to go. A tout!!

Cities you can visit in France:
Paris
Marseille
Bordeaux
Lyon
Strasbourg
Toulouse
Nice
Lille
Nantes
Montpeiller
Avignon
Grenoble
Cannes
Nimes
Annecy
Rennes
Aix-en-Provence
Rouen
Amiens
Reims
La Rochelle
Dijon
Le Havre
Ajaccio

The 10 most popular played sports in France are:
1. Football
2. Tennis
3. Horse Riding
4.Basketball
5.Judo-jujitsu
6. Handball
7. Rugby
8.Golf
9.Canoe Kayak
10. Sailing

Here are some of the metro brands ~ which I was talking about earlier:
Ratp
SNCF

Did you know that the name France comes from Latin, Meaning Francia (land of the franks). Modern France is still called Frankreich in German and similar names in some other Germanic languages (such as Frankrijk in Dutch), which means 'Frank Reich' the realm of the franks. France has an enormous impact on culture, food, and wine and is the most popular tourist destination in the world. ... such as France has the: most Nobel Laureates in Literature, according to the Western World, second most Michelin 3-Star restaurants, and fourth most number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

INTERESTING FACTS:
1. The French love their cheese (especially the grated ones) which means you shouldn't mess with them with cheese. I personally don't like cheese but however always get asked to try some because FRENCH people don't mess around when it comes to their cheese~ be aware.
2. France is the first country to make throwing out or burning food illegal. This is because in France people like to enjoy their food and not waste it!
3. The word 'Salut' has two meanings. This word in France/french is used as a greeting and as a goodbye. Usually if it is hard for people to understand they usually use Bonjour and Au revoir just to make it clear in case!
4. The French love their sleep. A lot of people get 8.83 hours of sleep in France.
5. Some 'French' food isn't actually French. As I mentioned before there is no such thing as French food it is just food originating from all over the world however they really do love their pastries and bakeries!
6. The Eiffel Tower is named after a special individual. Gustave Eiffel was this tower’s engineer who took all the backlash after creating it. If only he could see now how popular his best art piece is today.
7. Greet the French in a respectful way.The French are no exception to this courtesy when you are visiting their country. Many French citizens speak a variety of languages and expect tourists to do the same.
Before travelling to France, make sure you are able to order food from a restaurant, ask where the washrooms are, and how to say “I’m lost”. That last one will serve you well once you arrive to this busy city. Another phrase that is important to learn is how to tell locals that you are very sorry but you do not speak very much French.
8. France Has Art Outside Of Art Galleries.
Au revoir merci d'avoir lu cette info.

In France there are many different artists such as:
~Keblack
~MHD
~Aya Nakamura
~Booba
~David Guetta
These music artists are really popular nowadays in the 21st century.

France used to rip jewlery from woman with knives. The reason they went to algeria is because they want there oil and gold and shipped it to france. they would take the algerians to France as slaves and will be tortured but they did not comply. At the time there was a prince from algeria the last heir in line was named amir abdul kader a military leader who led a struggle against the french colonial leader in the mid-19th century. he was killed on the 26 may 1883 in Damascus,Syria. Most of the richness in France is what they took from Algeria.Tensions between the 2 groups came to a head in 1954 when the first violent events began o what was later known as the algerian war characterised byguerrilla warfare and illegal methods used by the french in order to stop the revolt. The war ended in 1962 when algeria gained independence ollowingthe evian agreements in march 1962 and the self-determination referendum in july 1962.

There are many landscapes in algeria and some places you should visit are:

Wahran
Algiers
oran
constantine
ghardaia
timgad
annaba
djemila
hoggar mountains
tlemcen
djanet
bejaia
timimoun
bormoudes
dellys
jijel
el oued
biskra
bechar
bou saada (if you want to learn about history)
sidi bel abbes
batna
leghouat
cherchell
tipaza

Algeria's main sport is football. Many people play it and so many good footballers who are Algerian's there are many olymic champions in Algeria shuch as boxers( which i am long distanced related to) there are also sports such as tennis and basketball.

Algerias main religion is islam although there are christians there.
we get along in harmony but there are some differences in political views.
Algeria was once ruled by the ottaman empire and since they left there are many artifacts and ruins left by them.
Algeria has a long and pure history with Palestine and this has led to a good friendship.
almost 90% of the country is covered by the sahara desert. Also alchol is hard to find. Algeria is the largest country in Africa. Algeria is commonly called the country of cherries and dates. This refers to the various types of weather found here; a mild climate in the north and a dry, hot one in the Saharan south. Algerian dates are known to be some of the best on earth. the population is 45 million.Algeria has $172.781 billion (nominal, 2020 est.) $681.396 billion (PPP, 2019 est.).The Sahara desert covers more than four-fifths of the land. Algeria is the continent's biggest country, and is the world's 10th largest. Oil and gas reserves were discovered there in the 1950s, but most Algerian's live along the northern coast.Algeria is a North African country with a Mediterranean coastline and a Saharan desert interior. Many empires have left legacies here, such as the ancient Roman ruins in seaside Tipaza. In the capital, Algiers, Ottoman landmarks like circa-1612 Ketchaoua Mosque line the hillside Casbah quarter, with its narrow alleys and stairways. The city’s Neo-Byzantine basilica Notre Dame d’Afrique dates to French colonial rule.

Hii again. One place I would also like to talk about where I am from is Cameroon. Where I am from in Cameroon is Douala! You have probably never heard of the country before, it is in central Africa. Let me give you a brief explanation of my country:Cameroon, on the gulf of guinea, is a central African country of varied terrain and widlife. Its inland capital, Yaounde, and its biggest city, the seaport Douala, are transit points to ecotourism site as well as beach resorts like Kribi - near the Chutes de la lobe waterfalls, which plunge directly into the sea - and Limbe, where the Limbe Widlife Centre houses rescued primates. IMPORTANT DATES: 1520 ~Portugese set up sugar plantations and begin slave trade, taken over by the Dutch in the 1600s. 1884~ Cameroon becomes the German colony of Cameroon. My favourite thing about Cameroon is the food examples of these are mbongo tchobi, bobolo, African donuts, miondo.

What is Cameroon famous for?

Cameroon is often known as "Africa in miniature" because of its geographical and cultural diversity. The Central African country has one of the highest literacy rates on the continent, but its economic progress has been hampered by corruption and decades of authoritarian rule

Famous Cameroonian people you might or might not know:
Mbappe : Footballer in PSG he is French and Cameroonian.

Last time, but hi for the third time. I also come from Switzerland (it was hard to choose from three places so i put down all three). Switzerland is a montainous Central European country, home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. Its cities contain medieval quarters, with landmarks like capital Bern's Zytglogge clock tower and Lucerne's wooden chapel bridge. The country is also known for its ski resorts and hiking trails. Banking and finance are key industries, and Swiss watches and chocolate are world re-owned. When I went to Switzerland i went to a place named Lausanne, the food was very very nice there. Swiss cuisine is influenced by French, German and Northern Italian cuisine, as well as by the history of Switzerland as a primarily agricultural country. AS a result, many traditional Swiss dishes tend to be relatively plain and are made from basic ingredients, such as potatoes and Swiss cheese (personally i don't like cheese). Switzerland was originally called Helvetic Celts inhabited by the Helevatians the territory comprising modern Switzerland came under Roman rule during the Gallic wars in the 1st century BC and remained a Roman province until the 4th century AD. Like France there really isn't such thing as 'swiss food' however...Switzerland is very very well known for their Swiss Alps and mountains as people love to use those to ski. One thing/ hobby very common in switzerland has to be the skiing! Aufwiedersehen!!

I come from 2 different countries. My dad is from Mauritius 🇲🇺 ( which is near Africa ) and my mum is from Jamaica 🇯🇲 ( which is in the Caribbean ). An interesting fact about both countries is that they are both islands- technically making me an island girl. Jamaica has only 14 parishes which means different areas. The population of of Jamaica is 2.8 million people. It’s extremely hot and very beautiful. I have been to Jamaica once when I was 1 years old but I don’t remember anything so I’m hoping to go back one day! Their national dish is Ackee and Saltfish- a North Atlantic fish. The food is absolutely to die for! The clothing they wear is very unique and exotic with all its brightly patterned materials and it’s colourful designs. An interesting fact about the Jamaican flag is that the colours represented a meaning- Green🟢 the lush landscape Yellow🟡 golden sunshine and the Black ⚫️The strength and creativity of the black people. Mauritius is such a beautiful little island. Their population is 1.266 million. This little quaint island is so fascinating- known for their reefs, beaches and lagoons. My grandparents speak creole ( their language ) as well as French which I sometimes understand. I have never been to Mauritius but would definitely want to go. Their national dish is called Dholl puri which I do want to try. My culture is very special to me and I would like to find out more about it :)

Hariz - food
This bolanai!
Afghan cuisine is more sophisticated than kebabs and rice. This landlocked country has been at the crossroads of major civilisations for centuries and that is reflected in what is on the menu. Sample its delicate ashak, a ravioli stuffed with leeks, and topped with minced meat and yogurt, or Mantu pasta filled with lamb and onions. And new influences are still emerging as Afghanistan opens its doors to the world. If you yearn for something lighter, former Japanese journalist-turned chef Hiromi (now known as Mursal which means Rose in Persian) fell in love with the country, married an Afghan and is training Afghans to make mouth-watering sushi.

Hi 7D!
I was extremely excited to read through the many different cultures that you have all spent your precious time telling us about, it has been a pleasure.

The UK has not always been my home. I was born in Jamaica, and I lived there for 11 years before I moved to the UK at the age of 11.

My favourite food from my culture is curry chicken and plain rice - I could eat this every day of the week!
