For the education reform, people back then didn't have many books to read since they couldn't afford it and barely went to school since they worked on the farms. Also they brought their own food to school since their houses were too far away.

The first book school kids read was the bible. Students had to copy down sections of it and re write them. The first textbook was the New England Primer. Used between 1760 and 1843.

Discipline- this is a wooden stick that teachers had that they would wack the kids with if they were miss behaving

Furniture- these are the tables at the schools that they had and they had 3 to a seat and the younger kids in front and older in back

people used slate and slate pencils before they created chalk. The slate didn't keep what they had written so they had to used memorization.

In the country, the ink was made from lampblack or tannic acid from oak trees mixed with light oil. Students used blotting paper to absorb excess ink from the paper when they were finished writing.
