https://padlet.com/sharonmahingo/Padlet_Concert I titled this Padlet, “The Art of Listening” because I believe that listening is one of the main components when it comes to truly appreciating music. There are so many ways that people interpret music when they are really listening to what the musician is saying or playing and I believe those different interpretations is what makes music unique to every individual person. I got the opportunity to attend a viola recital by Kelly Bartek and it was and it was an event I never got the chance to experience before. Personally, I loved the performance but not only did I focus on what she was playing, I focused on how she was playing her piece. One of the things that fascinates me when I see musicians playing is how they react to what their playing, like their facial expressions, their focus, and the different emotions that they develop when playing a certain piece. That draws me in and makes me focus and try to convey and understand the type of emotions that they are letting people see.
