    -brainstorming/jotting down my thoughts when inspired
    -when beginning a paper, I start by writing everything that might be relevant or interesting or possible until I find something that might work
    -powerpoint guidelines for my lessons

    What makes writing "good"?
    -when the author can make something complex and/or complicated clear(er) to me as a reader
    -when the author can put into words a understanding/concept that previously felt nebulous (i.e. to make concrete the abstract)
    -when I feel better (more knowledgeable, confident, prepared, etc.) for having read that text

    In ENG101?
    Writing is "good" when a student can achieve the assigned purpose in such a way that the reader understands what is being written, why it matters, and is at least reasonably persuaded to share the writer's perspective without being distracted from content/meaning/purpose by grammatical/mechanical concerns.

    Learning to write in my field:
    -practice, practice, practice
