When King George and Lord North heard of what happened about the Boston Tea Party they were so mad that they passed 4 laws for ONLY the Colonist would have to obey by they thought the rules were so vile that they called them the Intolerable Acts. the British called it The Coercive Acts. the act was made to punish the people of Boston for the Boston Tea Party. The law was passed with a vote of 4-1 and they were officially put into place.

1.The Boston Port Act (shut down the whole boston port)

2. The Massachusetts Government Act

3. The Administration act of justice

4. The Quartering act (let British soldiers break into peoples homes and live there)

5. Finally the Quebec Act( there is 2 parts, moving people of Governors from France in, and slowly stripping away land from the 13 colonies)

All of the acts make it so no meetings could happen if the governors persimmon under any circumstances, the more unfair part was that the new governor was Thomas Gage a general in charge of all troops in North America. Anyone that was a British soldier that broke a capital law in the colonies had their trial moved to England to face a ¨Friendly jugement¨ the British pleaded that they wanted the english colonists to be bottled up next to the ocean so they would be easter to control. William Pits spoke out against the lords and said basically this was wrong and will end in bloodshed,Lord North said we must control them or we would have to submit to them. Soon they got word that the colonists were making a congress called the continental congress.
