The Missouri Compromise was declared unlawful or unconstitutional, and people that support slavery and people that were against slavery had huge argument when it comes to the separation of the territory, which led to them to vote for or against the practice of slavery . Therefore, all of these arguments led the United States into the very real start of the American Civil War.

I believe the Missouri Compromise led to the Civil War because Missouri desired to be a slave state within the United States. The government, however, did not want them to be part of the United States because it would be an unbalanced state. For example, there are 12 free states and 12 slave states. To maintain this equilibrium, Maine and Massachusetts were divided, resulting in Maine becoming a free state and Missouri becoming a slave state. Where it causes a disagreement between the south and the north. While the South wanted to expand slavery, but the North did not want to.

The Missouri compromise limited the amount of slave states that could enter the union. Any states that were above the 36°30′ north parallel would not be allowed to become a state. In addition, to make the number of slave and free states equal, they added Maine. This further showed that the compromise was trying to please the Norths wishes and put aside the Souths desire of expanding and slavery. This would cause problems and division between both sides of the country. Eventually leading the country into a conflict refereed to as the civil war.

The Texas independence was a revolution fought by immigrants of both the United States and Mexico(referred to as tejanos). In this conflict, Mexican Texas wanted to secede from mexico. After its president, Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, commonly referred to as just Santa Anna. Abolished the 1824 Mexican constitution and became the countries dictator. Numerous battles would initiate and would ultimately crown Texas as the victor. Though they won their independence, mexico would not recognize them as a Sovereign Nation. Texas, now rid of an obligation, would attempt join the United States. The annexation of Texas would not happen until a decade later, in 1845. This was because of the tension in the united states and the complications that would arise from another slave state being admitted into the USA. Interrupting the balance of slave and free states. The annexation of Texas would also arise another problem that would further contribute to the tensions and inevitable civil war, this problem, was known as the Mexican-American war
