I like this article Motivation for college students. I felt it is perfect article for me i am able to compare my self in this article as a student. there are mainly five points explained in this article such as 1. have you thought your major thought, 2. Get "hands-on", 3. Set realistic goals, 4.Track and review your progress and 5. rid yourself of bad influence.
All the five points are very nice but from all of them i liked Set realistic goal. Because many time students are not enough mature and taking decision by watching other which is not good decision making and create problem with study.

I don't know if that was good or not because it never explained anything after the assessment.
Motivation for college student article surprised me. They explained five points 1. Have you thought your major through, 2.Get "hands-on", 3. Set realistic goals, 4. Track and review your progress and 5. Rid yourself of bad Influence.
All five points are very important but number five, rid yourself of bad influence stuck out to me. I have trouble with being friends with people that bring me down. Many family and other friends have told me this through the years. I really need to cut some loose ends or it will come back in haunt me in the end.

My motivation self reflection score was a 47 which made me feel very good about my current inner motivation at this time. Although I feel that I'm the most motivated I've ever been, I know one can slip out of that mindset just as easily as they entered. This knowledge allowed me to pick out multiple things from the motivation article to enter into my regular schedule. The biggest takeaway for me from this article is going to be to set specific short term goals to keep myself Intune with my semester and yearlong goals that I already envision. I already feel a strong motivation to day to day to reach these goals but, I feel a weekly system with goals oriented by certain days or the week would add even more fuel to the fire while creating a safety net to keep me from falling out of motivation.

I was very interested in this survey to see how self motivated I was-- my score was 45. According to the score interpretation, I spend good time and effort setting goals for myself. I agree with this because I do set a lot of goals for my schoolwork and have been working on time management with these goals. I work full time so I really have to manage my time well to get school work done.
The Motivation for College Students article, in my opinion, did a good job laying out tips for helping students get motivated. A lot of the tips are things that I have been doing in my life lately: getting hands on, ridding yourself of bad influences, setting realistic goals. I believe the most useful tip for me is setting realistic goals, #3. I started my program with a light class load to ensure I could get all the work done. I tend to live most of my life on a day by day basis like the article said and I am pretty good with pacing my work time equally instead of doing assignments all at once. Everything in the article could be useful to the right person.

One of my biggest takeaways is stay focused on your goals and do not let others interfere with your mission to success. Sometimes it is difficult to get motivated but do not let that stop you from getting what you want. Also keep your goals realistic and achievable.

It made me think about the difference between my motivation now versus how I felt when I obtained my first degree. I was much younger then and had a different view on all things.

I scored 36 on the motivation assessment, which is not entirely surprising to me. I tend to do most stuff last minute as I feel the added pressure helps me push through. It's hard for me to start on a project that is due in two weeks. I struggle and fumble with where to start, but then when the deadline is two days away I magically come up with a start and an end and some stuff to fill out the middle. It's not always the most successful way to do things, but that's how I've always done my homework. It's a very tough cycle to break.
The article was a good refresher for tips to stay focused and how to look more positively at school. It should be a well thought out choice of whether to continue your education or not. It definitely is not for everyone and I don't really agree with societies notion of going to college straight from high school. Yes, your brain is fresh with everything you just learned through your formative years, but many people must take out big loans to pay for school. With that being said it makes it a very important decision as to continue your education or not.

Some things, I unfortunately "put off" on for a bit, and other things I just get out of the way when I can. I read the article and felt it was dead-on. Most college students are adults, with a lot of responsibilities and tasks to do. There's not a lot of wiggle room for error. It's important to rid ourselves of toxins (like bad friends) and focus on achieving success and especially making sure we're in the right program/job.

I always try to put my goals first and make sure I have everything I need to achieve them. I was not always like that, especially the first time I was in college, but I'm thinking that is where I learned to change my priorities and get more motivated to achieve my goals. After reading the article I agree that getting rid of bad influences is the best way to stay on track. Friends that don't have the same goals as you do usually don't have the motivation you need to have to be successful. The article has some great tips to staying motivated with what you want in life.

My Assessment score was 34. Meaning that I'm not failing in the motivation department but I could achieve more. The feedback from the assessment was to increase the motivation factors in all areas of my life. I do partially agree with the results. I have issues with setting realistic goals and sticking with them. They tend to be vague and are often pushed aside when things get hectic. I think the main reason for my lack of goal success is that I don't keep track or review my progress when aiming to achieve them. Those are both areas I need to work on. One take away I got from this assessment and the article we read was that, through positive thinking and practicing our goal setting skills we can raise our self confidence and self efficiency which will ultimately build our self motivation.

I scored a 47 on the motivation self-assessment, which is a wonderful score to receive. I am not very surprised that I scored high for this since I have always been a very highly motivated person when it comes to everything. I also like to set goals for majority of the things I do in life. I personally feel like if you do not set goals you will become complacent and through setting goals it forces you to become more self-motivated. I personally find that people that are highly motivated inspire others to be motivated themselves. My main take away from the article is that some college students when they first start college have no idea what they want to do for a major and are very unmotivated when they first start. This article talks about several different ways to motivate college students by setting realistic goals, ridding yourself of bad influences, tracking progress, and thinking through your attended major. Through these simple things, colleges students can become more motivated to get through college.

The assessment score I received was a 49. This means that I often find myself setting goals for myself an working to achieve them. I find my score to be very accurate, I more often than to finding myself thinking of my future which can be a blessing and a curse cause I sometimes forget to let go and enjoy life, instead I just work a lot and stay focused. I believe I was given this strong working and goal mind set form y parents , I grew up having a lot of dreams but they really helped to motivate me a lot to work which now I can self motivate myself because of that. After reading the article I do believe that riding yourself of MOST bad influences is probably a great idea but we do need those people in our life to make us let go a lot of the time and enjoy the moment, I often find myself being that bad influence friend more often than not though. Another thing I took was from the article was that I sometimes need to make my goals realistic. I have this issue all the time where I will have a vision of something and work relentlessly until I get it which can burn me out pretty fast sometimes. I did find both the assessment and the article to be motivation in them selves, they showed me yet again that I doing okay and not to put to much pressure on myself. My biggest motivational tacit is the who, who am I doing all this for. I believe we all have those special people in our lives even if it is just for ourselves that mentally and emotions remind us that we need to keep working to achieve our goals.

I am always creating goals for myself and doing everything in my power to achieve them. The only thing I might disagree on is how motivated I am. Most of the time I am very self-motivated, but other times I struggle with motivating myself to get things done especially when I'm not fond of the task at hand. after reading the article on self-motivation I realized that I need to set a couple more goals for myself especially in the school aspect of my life. I also need to figure out a way to make more time for my homework and studying. I work a lot and have a lot going on, so it gets hard to find time for my schoolwork. I just need to stay positive and keep myself motivated.

I received a score of 36 on my motivation assessment. A score of 36 meant that I am doing okay on self-motivation, not entirely failing, but I could be doing better. I should try to increase the motivation factors in all areas of my life. The one question that stood out to me was the one about deadlines, which gives me stress and anxiety. I picked very often as my answer, because I have always stressed about the little and big things, but to me, school is a big thing. If I am late turning something in or I do something wrong, I get a lot of anxiety from it. I have always tried working on it and I continue to, but there's always room for improvement. I do find it important though that I do have motivation to get things done. Although I have such bad anxiety, I wouldn't allow myself to not get certain assignments done at the assigned due date. I am motivated in all aspects in life, but I am extremely motivated in things I love. I work hard in school, my current job, and sports, but as long as I can figure out my motivation in all areas, I think I will be doing great.

I received a 40 on the self-motivation quiz. A 40 isn't too bad but I know I could do better. When I set goals for myself, I have a tendency to set my goals too high. I am learning, it is important to set goals in small increments. This way your goals are more attainable and you are less likely to get" burnt out". The article made complete sense. It hit on every topic, every student needs to consider while in school. Reevaluate your major if you are not satisfied, because I think we should be passionate about what we are doing. If you are burned out then do something to mix it up a little. My biggest struggle, setting realistic goals. I know from experience don't overshoot it or you will get burned out. Another one I am currently working on is tracking my progress. Usually I just go, go, go and don't look back, but I don't get that feeling of accomplishment to help keep me motivated. One we should all look at is the bad habits. Bad habits can be anything from partying to exercising to sleeping. If you are doing any activity and it is cutting into your school, work or family time, maybe it is time reevaluate your goals. I personally feel I may have taken too many courses this term. I do not feel overwhelmed but the other day my son asked me if I was ever going to be done with homework. Between work and school, I haven't left much time for my family.

On my assessment I received a 3, which is a lot lower than I would have expected. The key factor in this I believe is lacking the self confidence I need to follow through with goals or passions, once something tends to not work out like I had hoped, I automatically assume its me that is the issue and not so much other key factors that could be contributing. It said in the article that self confidence and positive thinking are key factors in building strong self motivation, and I would have to say those are two thinks I lack. Currently I am working to manage my work and school and home life a little better, some days are easier than others. However on days that I don't seem to be meeting my goal or doing a good job juggling all of those things I tend to be hard on myself, instead of looking at the positive side of it. I definitely need to work on keeping myself more positive which in return should help with my self confidence and self motivation.

I received a 43 on my assessment. I am not surprised by my results. I notice myself settling small goals throughout my day which I think is healthy for me and makes getting to my bigger goals a little bit easier. I tend to be hard on myself, but I also have been working on my self confidence and found that I have been doing a lot better at not being so hard on myself. I find it a lot easier to find what you want in life when you use long term and short term goals. It gives you motivation and a reason to work hard and keep going. When I find myself at my worse, it is normally when I feel I have nothing to work towards or no motivation, so I set motivation even when it is something small. That way I work towards something and it gives a reason to stay focused. I have also learned how to cope more with my anxiety, so that became a self confidence booster, as well.

This score was higher than I thought but I tend to be self motivated so I am also not surprised. The results say that I tend to get things done and don't let anything stand in my way. I would happen to agree with this. With my busy work/school/family life I am always busy doing something, but I take pride in this. The assessment also goes on to state that I make a conscious effort to stay self-motivated, and spend a significant time and effort on setting goals and acting to achieve those goals. One way I have seen this is through my own goals of building my business. Just in the last 6 months I have watched and shared my success with my clients past and present and my family. I am proud to say the goals I have set are constantly being met and I am able to make new ones that don't seem too far of reach. It is so important to be self-motivated for many reasons. But, you must believe you can achieve said goals. When you have the confidence to do so, that is when you know you're heading in the right direction!

I scored a 38 on the motivation assessment. A 38 is average, so okay but I could do better. I believe I got an average score because a lot of the time I second guess myself and put too much pressure on myself to do good. A question that I related to so well was "I worry about deadlines and getting things done, which causes stress and anxiety" With second guessing myself it does not give me a lot of self-confidence and I always feel like I could be doing better. Under the self-confidence part alone I only scored a 12/20. I believe for me to gain confidence in myself I need to be less hard on myself and try to set better goals and search more for my strengths. The section I has the highest rating for was motivating environment (9/10), that section talks about the people you surround yourself with. I have wonderful people in my life that are always willing to help me find motivation and set goals. I have a busy life and don't have time for people that aren't in my life for the wrong reasons.

I scored a 41 on this assessment. A 41 is pretty good but could be better. I like to think I am self motivated. However, I get an idea and am excited about it until I start doubting myself. Then I tend to back away and stress too much which causes anxiety. Pretty soon I have talked myself into going a different direction. I used to think I was unstoppable and I did not let anything stand in my way. Now, I tend to second guess myself and so that is definitely something I need to work on. The section on focus and goals is right on. I do believe I set attainable goals. I just need to focus more on those goals and stop doubting and stressing about every step of the way. This section talks about scheduling my time and resources. I am a mother of 4 and work full time plus classes in the evenings. I think to keep on track with everything, I have to be somewhat self motivated. My life is a bit chaotic but I do have attainable goals and through all of the chaos, I will meet those goals.

I scored a 44 on this assessment. A 44 is really good. The summary stated that I like to get things done and don't let anything or anyone stand in my way. I make big efforts to stay self motivated and I spend a lot of time setting goals for myself. I have also developed a general level of self confidence that pushes me towards obtaining my goals.

I personally believe that I am a confident person and not afraid of putting myself in uncomfortable situations because I know it's one step closer to my goals. Some of the "take these steps" examples that I would like to work towards would be "Examining my strengths" to understand what I can build on and think about the achievements in my life. I know I need to spend more time thinking and examining what would be beneficial on working towards my goals instead of jumping onto every opportunity shown to me.

I scored a 37 on my assessment. Which is okay but needs room for improvement for sure. Ii have felt some accomplishment at work lately but that has been over shadowed by recent setbacks. I will keep working hard but it seems like the bosses just are not that into improving in that area currently.

I scored 41, which I feel is accurate. I tend to put about 75-100% effort into most things I do, depending on what I feel is needed for a certain task or what I am able to do. For the time being I have only been putting around 75% into assignments because I am also working 40 hours a week, which has really affected the amount of time I have to complete assignments. I think I could do a little better but it is pretty hard to stay motivated when I'm losing sleep and energy.

I scored a 46 on this assessment. I feel that this is very accurate because I'm the type of person that gets anxious knowing I didn't complete something, or complete it to my best ability. One thing I didn't realize I should do but don't do is reward myself as I go. This is an awesome idea that I should try.

I feel like the areas I lack motivation in are simply because I'm working 40 + hour weeks and often get too exhausted to do more than expected. This is something I will have to work harder on and improve on in the future.

I scored a 37 on my self assessment. My results seemed to show that I need to focus more on rewarding myself for a job well-done. I should also work on getting less stressed out by things that could go wrong, but haven't yet. I know that I put 100% into the things that I do, but I have little motivation to get started on them.

I scored 50 on my self assessment. I do agree with the results. I tend to set challenging goals for myself and if I do get off course I pick right back up and go full steam ahead. The assessment said that I am self assured which I agree with also but like any person I have my moments when I feel like I should be doing better. At times I can feel overwhelmed with raising 3 kids alone, working 40 hours a week and trying to get school work done on time for all 4 of my courses. This is something that I will continue to strive at setting a routine for that will allow me to learn all that I can and keep my grades up.
