This spirit lurks in the Black Mausoleum section of Covenanter’s Prison, an area of enclosed vaults that was used to imprison around 400 prisoners from the Covenanting Wars.  George mackenzie was given the nickname “bluidy mackenzie” because of the horrid conditions the prisoners were ensured . When the earl found them in a secret hiding place he was angered at his daughter , chasing her down to a point where she had nowhere left to run she tried to escape from a window , lowering herself down she was still holding onto the window and her father found her and drew his sword to get rid of her hands . Visitors who come to the castle report they see a young  handless women walking around in a blue velvet dress .
