•Photo Editing:

Students will research photos that represent Indigenous peoples and their histories, learning about the stories and significance behind these images. They will use these materials for their own photo editing projects, ensuring that they approach the photos with respect and sensitivity to the cultural context and meaning.

•Voice Editing:

In this chapter, students will be encouraged to explore Indigenous languages and speech through available resources, including recordings and language revitalization efforts. They will use these audio materials in their voice editing projects, learning about the importance of preserving Indigenous languages and voices.

•Video Editing:

In the video editing chapter, students will engage with Indigenous video content, documentaries, or stories. They will analyze how these stories are told and the cultural values embedded in the narratives. Students will then create their own video projects that incorporate Indigenous perspectives, aiming to produce media that reflects the richness of Indigenous cultures in an ethical and respectful manner.

•2D Design:

In this chapter, students will use Indigenous cultural symbols, such as totem designs, or other artwork that represents Indigenous heritage as a source of inspiration for their own 2D designs. They will explore the meanings and significance of these symbols while creating their designs, ensuring that they approach the cultural elements with respect and understanding.

•3D Printing:

Students will learn about traditional Indigenous art forms and crafts, such as masks or tools, and explore how these designs can be reimagined in a 3D digital space. By researching the cultural significance of these objects, students will create their own 3D models, reflecting Indigenous artistic traditions in their work.

•AutoCAD:

In the AutoCAD chapter, students will engage with Indigenous architectural designs, such as longhouses or other culturally significant structures. They will study these traditional designs and incorporate elements of Indigenous architecture into their own AutoCAD projects, ensuring a thoughtful and respectful approach to Indigenous design practices.

This goal aligns with the BC Curriculum’s focus on Indigenous worldviews and perspectives, fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity, and promoting responsible digital creation and curation. It encourages students to think critically about the impact of their work and the importance of respectful and ethical storytelling in the context of Indigenous communities.
