NHS - the last legacy of Britain's welfare state is in danger.

Making health care as commodity has detrimental and long-term effects on individuals, families, communities and societies.

Marketising national health care system will enlarge and normalise social inequality and endanger not only the health but possibly lives of those most vulnerable.

Privatising NHS has started years ago, but the majority of UK residents are unaware of the scale, process and implications of this process. Considering current social political environment, public awareness and discussions are urgently needed before the deal is quietly sealed.

To work with the University of Brighton to bring Sussex Defend NHS to campus and set up a neighbourhood group to discuss the issues involved and ways forward.

2. Setting up neighbourhood group: http://defendthenhssussex.weebly.com/neighbourhood-groups.html and work with local communities to raise awareness of the issues and implications. 

3. Getting papers out of ivory tower:
many academics in Sussex are researching health care system, practice and economics. Those knowledges are most public-funded and need to fly out of the ivory tower and help citizens make informed discussions and deliberations on this critical issue.
