She is passionate about giving underprivileged children a better life. She is from India, and has seen a lot of kids living in the slums in highly unsafe and unhygienic conditions, begging on the streets, and eventually falling in the trap of gangs who kidnap these kids, mutilate their organs, and send them back to the streets to beg and make money for the gang members, and the girls are also very easy victim to all kind of crimes. She genuinely feel that kids should be taken out of such deplorable conditions and given good education and housing, where they feel safe and can concentrate on their growth. She is working on building a school in India.

She worked for Teach for Austria for 2 years. She is now working on projects that aims at educating low income kids, especially socioeconomic disadvantaged teenagers in Austria. Her concerns include helping students who do not get a job because of their background, their parent’s lack of education, lack of experience, difficulties with languages.

He first became interested in social entrepreneurship in 2009 when his girlfriend at the time was on a project designing an ecosan toilet for slum dwellers in Uganda for an organisation called Design Without Borders. At the same time he was introduced to the work of Paul Polak through his book Out of Poverty and he became more and more interested in these issues.The fact that there were a lot of people out there trying to make sustainable business instead of direct aid was something he became very fascinated with and he read a lot about different SocEnts, and thats where he heard about both Acumen and SamaSource.Since he has always been interested in technology too, he has kind of always thought about a way to try to use his IT skills for something with purpose. After living in Uganda for a few years, and also marrying a Ugandan, he now has a lot of family there and has seen first hand the lack of education/information in that part of the world.

Her passion is promoting inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities. She currently runs an organisation providing education and training to young adults with intellectual disabilities and supporting them to get jobs in the open labour market.

He has opened Crece schools in Peru, Chile and Argentina for the poor. He had leukemia as a kid, and later saw another kid with leukemia who couldn’t afford to get it treated. This was the turning point for him. He wants to help the neighborhoods where people live with no resources, hope or joy, just working to bring home some bread at the end of the day, exposed to crime, drugs, delinquency, prostitution, etc. He wants to tackle these problems by educating the adults, who in turn will educate their kids.

She is the CEO of a nonprofit called Social & Economic Action for Lebanon. Her real passion is for her organization Seenaryo (www.seenaryo.org), which she co-founded 2 years ago. They run arts and education programs with refugee groups in Lebanon, aiming to allow the voices of refugees to be heard and building capacity in refugee communities through culture.
