I notice that she hints at the current Black Lives Matter movements that have been going on and that we as a nation need to focuses on our similarities and come together instead of the things that divide us. What personally stands out to me is how she words things, she does a beautiful job at making a point in a very elaborate way. Lastly I think poets might be asked to speak at a presidential inauguration because they have a way with words that’s more than just talking and trying to get your point across, it’s literal art and how she words things speaks to your soul.

I noticed how the audience reacted and when they would speak out in agreement. One example was when she was taking about democracy and that it will never be destroyed. The thing that stood out to me the most was the rhyming. The way she used it to emphasize her points or hold the audiences attention. That alone took immense talent and I was very impressed.

I noticed that she brought up a lot of social injustices such as racism in America and how poorly minorities have been treated ever since the beginning of time. I wonder if she will ever achieve her dream of becoming president in 2036 and if she will be able to get high enough in a position to even get close. What stood out to be was her repetition of saying how to improve as a country and how we can overcome any obstacles. Poems have always been apart of our country since America was first discovered. It's an old art form that goes back many centuries so to honor that art form, famous poets are asked to speak at every inauguration.

I wonder what rhyme scheme the poet used because I had a difficult time identifying the rhyme scheme used in the poem.
