My 15th was a surprise party. I always insisted on not having one, but as time grew closer to my 15th birthday I changed my mind. My parents told me they don't have the money to have a 15, so one of my cousins planned it all and told the rest of my family. Together they were able to plan everything by the time of my birthday. All in the span of 3 months. It was a good memory and gesture.
