         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Lost Generation was a term used to describe the many artist, musicians, and writers that were emotionally affected by WWI. They experienced disillusionment which is a feeling of disappointment when someone realizes something is not how they imagined it to be. Much of the Lost Generation had lost hope due to the terrors of WWI. They tried to find a new meaning to life after the war.</div>]]></description>

Factories and businesses had to let go of  workers and production decreased. People had no jobs and in Germany, they were in search for a new leader. Hitler was appointed Chancellor and later became a dictator and controlled Germany with Nazism. Great Depression: Severe economic downturn that followed the collapse of U.S. stock market in 1929.<br>High unemployment rates in U.S. and decreased industrial production resulted in a domino effect around the world.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After the inflation, people were hopeless and all they wanted was a strong leader. Hitler was appointed Chancellor and later became the leader of Germany. He was a dictator. He made promises to rebuild the economy and bring back jobs. This is what the people wanted. Hitler was a Fascist. He believed that there was such thing as a "perfect" race and in order to be part of the race you had to have blonde hair and blue eyes, even though he had neither. He had a plan to eliminate Jews, homosexuals, the elderly, the disabled, and gypsies. In order to do this, he sent them to concentration camps where most people were tortured and killed.</div>]]></description>

While  arrested, Hitler wrote a book called <em>Mein Kampf  </em>in which he describes all of ideas and and plans. The book describes how he believes that Germans are superior to all other people, the Treaty of Versailles treated Germans unfairly, and that Germany needed more <em>lebensraum </em>and promised that he would conquer lands for Germany.   </div>]]></description>

Throughout the years 1936 to 1938 millions have died under the rule of Stalin, an estimated 8 to 13 millions have lost their lives. The Five Year Plans was a method for economic growth. The first and second plans were the heavy development of industry and agriculture. The third plan emphasized the production of armaments. The fourth stressed on heavy military and industry. The last enforced rapid industrial development.</div>]]></description>
