Henna Night (Kına Gecesi) is a Turkish wedding tradition that is still very popular. Henna night used to be an event held to send the bride off from the family home. But now it has become more modernized and turned into an event that resembles a bachelorette party but also has certain characteristics of a henna night. In the old henna nights, henna was applied to the bride's hands and then time was spent with sad songs. But today, both the bride and the groom are hennaed and entertained with lively songs.

An earthen pot is filled with money, candy and chocolate wrapped in tulle. The groom sits on a chair. The bride shakes the jug in her hand and plays around the groom, and suddenly throws the jug to the ground and breaks it. It is believed to bring prosperity to the home.

Traditions and customs practiced on special occasions in Turkish society are one of the heritages that have survived to the present day. At the beginning of these legacies is the addition of salt to the coffee prepared at the wedding ceremony of the groom. In the arrangement, boys and girls get together for the first time and see each other. The bride immediately prepared the groom's coffee. If the groom liked his candidate, he would prepare coffee with sugar and offer dessert with it. 'Me and my family want you'. gives the message. -Firuze HHY
