A learning disability is a disability that affects the knowledge that someone gains or the skills someone may have. These disabilities are neurodevelopmental conditions that effect someone's classroom skills like ready writing and mathematics. These are lifelong conditions that effect a persons ability to process information.

some characteristics of learning disabilities are problems reading and writing, problems with math, poor memory, problems paying attention, trouble following directions, clumsiness, trouble telling time, and problems staying organized

Some causes for learning disabilities are, parental factors being if the parents drink alcohol or do drugs during the pregnancy. Birth factors being if the baby is born early, low birth weight, or the baby didn't receive enough oxygen during birth. Emotional Trauma being if during early childhood the child had a deeply stressful or a emotionally abusive environment.

Some treatments/interventions that people can use are, setting up students for a IEP which can help the parents and educator understand more of what the child's specific needs or goals are. These show the accommodations that the student might need to be successful. Another thing that could help the student is small group and one and one instruction. These good help the kids that might not get all the information in the classroom, to get the material in a small group or a one on one environment. I would personally teach a student with a learning disability is give them extra time or special accommodations during tests. I would also make sure they are seated in a spot where they could ask questions and see everything they need to know. Some challenges I would face is making sure that the child gets and understands all the information needed to pass exams. Also another challenge is teaching at a pace that all students can understands not to fast or not too slow.
