The changes to our timeline include releasing our single somebody's gotta' lose first as we initially had Sam French on board to mix our two tracks Sombody's gotta' Lose and Why so serious? due to an issue arising from the final master, in which Steven Kerry (who mastered our first track) had checked the mix on his end and found no issues so it was most likely coming from our end. Because we are working backwards from the release our former drummer Ben was unable to fix the issue so we have decided to get Sam to mix Where did all the colour go? as well. In doing so we belive that we'll have more consitancy in the final masters. by haveing the same producer do all three tracks. So our final timeline is Sombody's gotta' lose being released first on the 20th of Janurary, with a video released on released on feburary 3rd. Through analyising Gnarlah's release strategy I was able to see that they had released four main singles first before releasing the EP(Gnarlah, 2022). It seems that this was a winning stratgey as they seem have racked up an impressive amount of streams through this method. One element I notcied was that they have some EP exclusive tracks which gives a listeners an incentive to listen to the EP or sends them to select this EP only tracks to listen to(Gnarlah EP, 2022). One strategy I have looked at for CLAYTREE is the waterfall strategy. The waterfall is strategy described by Ditto music as “centred around an artist releasing a single every 3-4 weeks just as the single is at its peak or in a decline in order to stay relevant or build an audience”(Ditto Music, 2022). This strategy seems to revolve  around having a good understanding standing off streaming platforms and their algorithms. This means releasing singles fairly regularly in order for it to pushed by the algorithm and qualifies you for their rewards programmes(Ditto Music, 2022). Another use for the waterfall strategy as it helps to build an album or EP over time as you’re able to release the tracks as singles which eventually leads into a bigger project like an album or EP, as long as you keep the same meta data one each track when the EP comes out you’ll be able to keep the streams of the singles.
