Pirates flood the town, raiding homes and attacking the people.  Two of these pirates happen to find their way to Elizabeth's home. Elizabeth runs and hides in a closet. But the pirates, muttering of whispering gold, somehow find her. Before she can be killed however she invokes Parlay, meaning that she may not be harmed until after she has had an audience with their captain. When taken to them, she finds out that the medallion on her neck is worth something to them and uses it to broker a deal with the pirates to leave Port Royal and her alone in return for it, which they agree to. Then, one of the pirates asks her name, in fear of them using her as a hostage, as she's the governor's daughter, she says her last name is Turner. One of the guards makes fun of their intelligence, for the Interceptor was far too big to be manned by only two people. Meanwhile, Elizabeth prepares for Dinner with the Captain of the Black Pearl, Barbossa.  Who reveals why they want her and the medallion.  Because they stole the cursed Aztec gold of Cortés, they were cursed to be unable to be killed, never feel anything, always thirst and hunger for as long as they live for stealing a treasure, and the curse could only be broken if every piece of gold was stolen was returned and everyone who stole any of the gold pours some blood on the top of the returned treasure. During this Will has some questions for Mr. Gibbs, the first being Jack's connection to the Black Pearl pirates, which is when it's revealed by Mr. Gibbs that Jack was once the captain until they mutinied against him. Will's second question related to Jack's compass, which despite the fact that they were following it, did not point north. Meanwhile, Barbossa was tricked, the reason he took Elizabeth was because she gave her last name as Turner, whose blood they needed to break their curse.  In the confusion, Will saves Elizabeth and takes the medallion. 
Later onboard the Dauntless, Elizabeth expresses her feelings for Will and reveals to Will that it's his blood they need to break their curse.

When searching for her and the medallion, the pirates instead find Jack who, in return for sparing his life, promises to lead them to the actual descendant of Bill Turner in a deal. So they set off to reclaim the medallion from Elizabeth, by force. A battle ensues and in the conflict in which the pirates of the Black Pearl are victorious. Because of this, Will, despite Jack's best efforts, reveals his heritage as the descendant of Bill Turner and makes a deal for Elizabeth to go free and for the rest of Jack's crew to be unharmed in return for his cooperation, which the pirates agree to. 

This leads to the crew being locked up in the Black Pearl and Jack and Elizabeth being stranded on the same island Jack was left on before by the Black Pearl pirates when they mutinied against him.  But thanks to Jack's hidden stash of rum, Elizabeth created a smoke signal big enough to be spotted by the Navy, who came and saved them.

]]> 2023-09-23 01:24:26 UTC https://padlet.com/owendong22/1fe4rnbwdzjue851/wish/2716978911 The Reward / Treasure owendong22 https://padlet.com/owendong22/1fe4rnbwdzjue851/wish/2716979022 As the battle rages on outside, Jack, Will and Barbossa wait inside Isla de Muerta for the end of the battle, Jack starts talking to Barbossa, fiddling with some treasure, getting a look at some of the cursed treasure of Cortez.  Then, Jack is able to free Will and pass him a sword during which a battle ensues there too in which Jack duels Barbossa as Will fights some of the crew.  During the fight Jack is stabbed, where it is revealed that while fiddling with the gold of Cortéz he had stolen a piece, making him cursed as well, therefore prolonging their fight. Meanwhile, Will is saved from a pirate by Elizabeth, who had snuck aboard the Black Pearl and saved Jack's crew.  The fight continues until Jack is able to toss his piece of stolen gold, covered in his blood, over to Will, who has defeated his pirate adversaries. To counter this, Barbossa pulls his gun and aims it at Elizabeth, only to be shot in the stomach by Jack. Barbossa calls this a pointless act as he is cursed, only to find out that Will had just returned his piece of blood-stained gold, breaking the curse, saving the Navy, and killing Barbossa. Meanwhile, Will is locked up in the Black Pearl, where it is revealed to him by a member of the crew, that the reason they need him is that Will's father Bill gave him the medallion when he was a child, to keep it away from the rest of the crew as he believed this was the fate they deserved. As punishment, he was tossed to the depths of the sea in chains, while the crew sought the last piece of gold and Bill's descendant to break the curse.

The pirates arrive at Isla de Muerta, where they prepare to break their curse, with the Navy and Jack outside waiting for them.
