Into my nursing journey, I have continually engaged in serious self reflection about my cultural values, beliefs, and views, seeking to implement Competency Standard 12.1 in my nursing practice. My constant self awareness provides me with a thorough grasp of how my cultural background may influence my encounters with patients from other cultural landscapes. By embracing this self awareness, I strive to provide great culturally responsive care by admitting and correcting my own preconceptions, guaranteeing steadfast respect for each patient's independence, and making culturally appropriate healthcare decisions.

The impact of social determinants on the health and wellbeing of migrants and refugees in Australia is important, they are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life. These forces and systems include economic policies and systems, development agendas, social norms, social policies and political systems (WHO, n.d). It is important emphasizing the urgency of addressing these problems. To begin with, housing is key many migrants and refugees experience difficulties in obtaining safe and cheap accommodation, resulting in overcrowding and bad living conditions. This may worsen physical and mental health difficulties while also heightening vulnerability.

Secondly, education is important in combining the two towards their health outcomes. Language challenges and limited access to education might make it difficult for them to navigate the healthcare system, comprehend health information, and make educated decisions, harming their health.

Finally, access to cheap healthcare services is extremely important. Despite Australia's universal healthcare system, cultural and language obstacles can prevent migrants and refugees from obtaining care in a timely manner, resulting in delayed diagnoses and inferior health outcomes. It is critical to address these socioeconomic factors thoroughly in order to ensure the health and wellbeing of this varies community.

WHO.
