Today I learned about a typical food, the manioc, and tried it. The rainforest taught me that everything is connected. Plus, I thought about how to prepare an activity with school children on a forest hike as this is homework for tomorrow 🙂

Today I got to know the diversity of nature in the rainforest and was impressed. I think that in the context of a globalization with an increased digitalization man must not forget nature, because we are part of it and dependent on it.

Again, we had a great day in experiencing the differences and similarities in cultures and nature. First, we tried what I may call "Küchle", but out of Manioc, stuffed with different things, e.g. chocolate or cheese. The walk through the rainforest was once more breathtaking, those green colours are amazing. I like the idea of sharing (rain)forest experiences with pupils and to put it in an outdoor "classroom" in many different contexts.

Today I learned that the application of a key competence in a new environment is a quite exciting thing to do. It may seem challenging to adapt that beforehand but once you are in the rainforest the ideas just keep coming.

Today I tasted a manioc pancake and saw the machines and pans to produce it.It is very filling and was too much.II learned today that not only in the rainforest but also the key competences of the international curriculum are belonging together. One thing will be removed and life will become unbalanced.Everything is connected Here is a Haiku Poem, Trees, leaves
High biodiversity
A sound of live
Rain forest is a cultural heritage, we have to protect it , safe it from deforistation .

The following comparison has made me think: The rainforest, as it is today, is a mix of native plants of Guadeloupe and plants that have gradually come into the country. These plants now form a community, namely the current rainforest and this community also has difficult situations, such as Hurricane Maria survived two years ago and continues to evolve. The world is changing. How do we deal with migration and change, which key competences do we need for our community?
Furthermore, we visited a sugar cane plantation. The man reports enthusiastically about his work here, proudly shows us the latest harvesters. However, it was also a good place to return to the era of slavery: From the position of the former manor house one had a wide view of the sugar cane plantations. This was a good link to our museum visit last week and made me think about the history of Guadeloupe.
